As M813rc said, the M105A3 landing gear is junk (I've had 2 and both were boogered up). What they have that is handy though is the seperate cranking jack that's stored on the fender. I use it on my MKT and it works wonderfully.
Since I'm going to stick with the original frame I don't need the air tank (already on it). It was a difference between a MKT-75 new frame and my MKT-85 original frame. I guess I thought since they were both M103A3 frames they would be identical and found out the hard (expensive) way that they...
Well the new trailer frame turned out to be a bust.
Sarge and I worked on it this morning. We got the old frame unbolted from the MKT, jacked the deck up, then pulled the old frame out. In order to keep from having to jack the body up too high (unstable at best and dangerous at worst) we just...
If you're going to try production style cooking you might want to pick up a second griddle to go over the stoves on the end next to the standard griddle. That'll double your cooking surface for burgers, dogs, sausage, etc. Another SSer in San Antonio sold sausage wraps at a recent living history...
I think the fact that it was overhauled in '05 had something to do with it.
Not many are going to return from Iraq. They were using the containerized kitchens over there but the MKTs are possibly going to be headed to Afgh because they don't have a flat space to put the containerized ones down.
I've got room in the freezer ;-)
Since I doubt I'll be using it for it's intended purpose it probably won't have batteries in it. I'll use it for display at shows and maybe keep a couple of batteries at home in the event I actually need it.
Yes it is 24v. It is designed to run in conjunction with a slave port connector on the deuce in a field environment. The slave connects to the battery pack to charge and then the MBUs run off the battery pack. Where there is "shore power" available the MBUs run through a 115/24v convertor. I...

Bought some new goodies to work on the MKT with. First is a replacement frame. the current frame has severe (like 1/4" flakes) rust and all of the brake lines have rust through as well as a bent landing gear. Instead of trying to fix all of that I'm just going to jack the MKT body up, slide...
It's something about Ft Sam that drives people nuts (at least 2 of them any way). They'll be surprised in a few weeks when there are 30 or more bringing minimum bids.
You're lucky to have something like that (I mean a connection to your mother as much as the car).
My first car was a '67 Camaro SS. Of course it was almost as old as I was when I got it.
Well, the motor data plate is underneath the pump controller and no way to read it well without taking it apart. Here's the best shot I could get with my phone. Looks like 55amp.
I'd like to get back to the original question. Would the 24v 50gpm pump off of the TPU work? That, of course, would be just using the pump and not running it through the TPU filter (which is no longer with the pump). Anything the dirty oil could damage in using that to transfer it?
I'm...
Another thing you might want to try if you're restoring it is get involved with one of the local clubs (Alamo MVPA or Lone Star MVPA). It's amazing how much knowledge and spare parts are circulating around a group of guys that live and breathe MVs
Lone Star MVPA - Welcome...
