K&N Air filter for the deuce

For a pyro, I found that an Autometer 12v 2" pyro pulls about 174mA on 12v current. I soldered a 75ohm resistor inline with both the light and the instrument itself, shrinkwrapped the whole thing, and I should be fine to throw a holesaw pretty much anywhere on the dash on this, and just wire it...

    A different set of wheels...

Jim, No pictures yet, sorry. I'm still waiting to find some cheap steers and throw those on. Can't REALLY put recaps in the front, and new 315/80r22.5 steers are really expensive. I have a bunch of tire guys I know looking for me for a pair of takeoff steers with like 5000 miles left or...

    A different set of wheels...

Hi Jim, Sweet. I was casually looking for those wheels as well on Friday. Hey, just for the record, it's 6 on 8.75", not 9". Not a big thing, but if you're going to outlay the cash, better to be 100% sure. I don't even think they offer a 6 on 9" bolt pattern, but just if you're asking for 6...

Would a 6534 allison and 3208 Cat be an upgrade?

I really like my 3208, but I turbo'd it and I wouldn't bother to stick a NA engine in there (maybe it's better at sea level, but at 5000 feet, NA 3208's are dogs). Also, check the OD on that Allison. Anything lower (numerically higher) than a .80 top gear, and it won't work with the deuce's...

Make me part of that convoy. All of this intercooler talk makes me want to put one on my junk... 4 PSI shouldn't be that hot? Time to get a boost gauge on the new turbo on my 3208.

Finally got the approval to purchase my deuce!

Hey Wallew, If you want me to come check out one of those trucks with you, let me know. I'm just up here in Boulder, and I always love looking at old iron. Cheers Bob

    Electric winch

I'm a worry wort... and I wonder if your mounting system is going to be strong enough, since from what I see, the mounting bolts are all in a single plane. Have you gotten a good pull on it yet with most of the line out (more torque on the lower wraps of wirerope)??? I'm not trying to call you...

    Front Drive Flanges?

Pulling the inner duals will seriously degrade the load handling for the rear end. The stock NDT's are only about 4000 lb rated in a single configuration! My new radials are 8000lb tires in a single, by the way. :D If you're a welder, making a set of "dummy hubs" is pretty darn easy. I made a...

    Trailer Recepticals?

By the way, I have a trailer hookup I got that I'm probably looking to sell here soon. It's the piece that plugs into the deuce and has the packard connectors to plug into the trailer harness itself. Message me if you're interested. Thanks Bob

    Legal questions

Wallew, I still have to get an emissions test every time I register, and that goes for anyone within Denver metro... maybe not a colorado thing, but definitely a Denver thing. :( Merry Christmas, guys... Bob

MVs headed to scrap, anyone need any parts?

I'd pay $500 + shipping (hopefully it's under $300 each) for each M35 front axle he wanted to ship to Colorado, no springs - must be u-joint style (cut the boots and turn the knucles to see). I'd also pay him $50+shipping for every front M35/M35a2 driveshaft he wanted to send out here, as well...

what do you do to fit radials on your truck?

I could use some M35a3 wheels for my buggy. :) Hi Randy, I sent you a message, but the tires, after looking at em again last night, are closer to 44's... they are 315-something R22.5 . I don't speak metric tire sizes, so I couldn't really tell you what that translates to! They are the...

what do you do to fit radials on your truck?

No idea on width. The 46's I have on it sit just fine, though. Dude, so you're in the York Gulch area? Where is that? I drive I 70 every other weekend on the way up to summit. I will actually have the deuce at A Basin in April for my friend's annual ski party up there - we're going to use it...

    Rear wheel bearing numbers?

You know, I was working on my trailer project this weekend, and I had just banged out the races on the SECOND and final hub (in preparation for swapping them), I stopped and looked at the races. They are the same!!!! I was like, I. am. the stupidest. person. alive. I can't believe I didn't check...
