    Air actuated front axle

It's not a matter of whether they're SPRAG (that's how you spell it) transfer cases or full-time 6 wheel drive. Trucks either had the Sprag or they were upgraded to air-shift transfer cases. Either way, none have their front axles engaged full time. Air-shift, you flip a switch and it uses...

    Price?

Depending on what kind of hauling, you may want to look at something civilian as the 5 ton M49 series don't have an OD transmission, making for slow going... EDIT: To answer your question: Look for cab rust in areas that would be difficult to repair, damage to the truck's frame... Does it...

FOUND!! 1953 Reo Motors gasser M35

I think it would be neat to have a "Group Project" truck to work on at the rally... organizing people would be an interesting task, but there'd be enough dumb labor and enough know-how to get a lot done in not a lot of time...

FOUND!! 1953 Reo Motors gasser M35

I know for a fact if it made it to the GA Rally its brake problems would be fixed in the space of one afternoon...

    Replacing fule filters,process

To clarify what the above poster said, there should be a dataplate at the top righthand (passenger side) of the dash in your truck that lists the TMs that apply to it. The one that will cover changing the fuel filters is the one that ends in "-20," which, if I'm not mistaken, is the...

    M151 Rust-free, NEVER CUT questions...

One Marine M151 I've seen that has been fully (and accurately) restored is a 3-color camo, with a base similar to 383 Carc green and black and tan camouflage over the green. Otherwise, it is either Semi-gloss OD (same color as all Army trucks in Vietnam) or Semi-gloss USMC Forest Green.

What is the going price for a rebuilt 3053a?

I should think so. A still-in-crate Gov't rebuilt Transfer case is about $1k.

    new guy needs help

Do you have a Sprag or an airshift transfer case? (Airshift trucks have a switch under the gauge panel that says "IN" and "OUT")

    While the radiator is off...

Trust me, it can be EXCITING to remove it.

Looking at trading my muscle car addiction for something a little greener...

I'd hazard that parts for the M35A2 are just as plentiful if not more plentiful than for the A3 based on the fact that there were about 10 to 20 times as many A2s manufactured and or upgraded than A3s made... (Deuce aficionados correct me here) If you're concerned about getting an A2 and...

    Blast that M-275

Judging from the pictures of the M816 he did, he'll do a good job. A M275 is remarkably simpler than a M816 Wrecker....
