    M923 Transmission Assistance Please!

OP has stated that he is new to the 5 ton world. With little or no experience in a 5 ton (full air brakes no less), even with the engine running to provide air for the brakes, it would be a white-knuckle ride for whomever is in the tow vehicle. Might be do-able with a very experienced driver...

    M1009 Rear Seat Help

First, fold the back of the seat down (forward). There is a release handle behind the rear seat, recessed into the center of the floorboard. Pull up (hard) on that handle to release the seat. Then you can fold the seat forward. The bar on the passenger side near the wheel well is the release to...

Hoa=Home owner's association. A very restrictive group that would surely frown on seeing this type of vehicle in their neighborhood.

    M923 Transmission Assistance Please!

Towing a 5 ton with a dually and a strap is not a good idea. Tow bar it with another BIG truck.

Middletown, OH Memorial Day Parade, May 27, 9:00am Seeking MVs

You are certainly not an idiot. Lots of threads to read, and sometimes we just scan them too quickly. Two parades now, decisions, decisions. Drat.

New member here in need of some Assistance

Mike- welcome to the site. Instead of taking your truck to a mechanic shop, perhaps you can become familiar with some other people with similar military truck interests. Reading the TM's and other info available on this site is one of the best ways to get comfortable with your truck. Never stop...

Dayton Quaker Steak and Lube Events (2013)

I think the grass would be a good place for a couple of shade canopies. If Auggie parks his T-72M1 in the grass, I hope Home Depot has enough bags of topsoil and grass seed to repair the yard job.

5-ton Crew Cab killing em at car shows already!

That's a great looking truck. All of that hard work is appreciated. Can't wait for the rest of the pics. Excellent job!!

    Tugg-A-Truck, Xenia, Ohio

Sunday April 28, 2013. Kil-Kare Speedway, Xenia, Ohio. Several of us showed up last year. Nobody wanted to hook to the large mv's, so they made exhibition pulls. Weather was windy and chilly, but still a good time. Gates open @ noon, pulls start @ 2 pm. Admission $10.

Reworking Deuce spring seat into an air ride seat.

We did the same thing on the driver's seat of my 932. Great mod.

I am also interested. Hopefully, enough members will want one and the cost won't be too high.

    Shovel / Axe mounts?

Duluth Trading Co. sells some nice rubber mounting clamps. I bought a few pair, but have not installed them yet.

    Pull Starting a CUCV

No, it cannot be started until you replace the flex plate. Be sure to do a close inspection of the starter while you're at it.

    R.I.P. Bill Parks

There is already a thread addressing this very sad news.

Won my first GL auction, 5 ton m931 Indiana

I wish mine came with keys. I had to cut the locks off the steering wheel chain. Waste of some perfectly good padlocks.

    M923 reverse lights install

I wired my backup alarm to the pressure switch I installed in the trans, and put a switch in the dash so I could negate the alarm when desired. My rear facing LED work/reverse lights are wired to another switch in the dash. I don't want to have to put it in reverse to have the LED's come on.
