as i said i guessed at the temp conversion and was incorrect but can you admit when you are incorrect about how heat works .i think this more than shows charracter or lack there of.i do make mistakes and will more then gladly say so when i know i am wrong this whole debate arose from you...
i would advise doing a google search on heat and the effects it has on different objects in different invironments. we are not talking about air as the cooling system on the deuce has 32qts of coolant in the system .that is what we are trying to heat with the block heater. knowing the deuce...
yes i was incorrect on the temp conversion i just guessed. i can admit when i am wrong but green jeepster you were wrong when you said heat rises. it does not that is incorrect.hot air rises .liquids expand when heated .solids expand when heated .there are several different kind of heat radiant...
exactly right ken the waste gated turbo is limited what max boost will be.how much boost have you been able to get out of one of the ported d turbos :?:it seems that is a big mystery
beerslayer you probably have a c or d turbo .thats pretty common for one of those turbos with the fuel turned up.my motor is labeled as a 465 1d but it has a lds427 turbo and the injectiion pump is different to. i believe when it was rebuilt to lds specs at the depot in 92.if you have a c motor...
alot of guys are running the outer wheels without duals and without the hubs flipped i havent heard of anyone having problems because of it..i thought about fliping mine back to protect the mud flaps wheen offroad .but i dont like the look of them that way
i would think it to be another oil ring the more oil you can keep on the piston the cooler it will be .rather than just keep enough oil on the piston to lube the cylinder walls i think they wanted to keep enough oil on there to help disapait some of the heat.
i think it would be better to run the lds since it has more rings per piston, one more oil cooling injector per piston, and lower compression so it can take more air- fuel and will hold up better .you can porbably get the same power from a ldt but it wont be as durable
i'm not sure how much a ported d turbo will flow.i guess youll have to stick it on there and keep us informed of the outcome .but the lds has lower compression ,more rings on the pistons and one more oil cooler tube to the bottom of each piston so it should be able to take a little more air...
a waste gate is there only to limit max boost .the reason the waste gate turbo it better is because it flows more on the compressor side and the exhuast side . so it can make more boost at lower speeds without overfueling. it can take more fuel . the c and d turbos are pretty restrictive and...
gimpy do you have a pyro on your deuce with the lds.i wonder if there is much difference between the egt and boost with the c turbo on a lds vs an ldt.obviously the lds will hold up better with better piston cooling .but they are the same size engine run at similar rpms the turbo controls a...
if you go with the waste gate turbo you will have to mod the exhaust to .but there is a big power differ between the waste gate turbo and the others. the waste gate turbo makes more boost down lower in the rpm range giving you more torque.and better drivabilty even though it is limited to less...
get you a lds427 turbo .thats what i have on my deuce it makes the most boost of any turbo that will fit with the starter still on the pass side .i'm getting 27 psi of boost on my ldt.:-D:-D
i am quit happy with my deuce .i realize that there are always trade offs.i realize other trucks may have 6x6 and be more at home on the road .but they are not going to be as good offroad .or be able to be misused and abused like the deuce .they wont be water tight or easy to work on they wont...
hey thats not nice emr.i want to make a race truck out of my deuce and i wouldnt trade it for no stinkin international-ford bed non matching body line 80,000 dollar electric headache waiting to happen truck . did i say that nice enough?deuces rule all other drool.
you could just get what ever truck you wanted and have usa 6x6 make you some axles they make ford 9 inch in a through shaft or pinion adapters to run gm 14 bolts in a 6x6 and they can put unimog portal ends on it to .what more could a guy ask for than a 6x6 with portal axles .i dont care for the...
a friend of mine put 4 inch exhaust on his truck with a c turbo it whistles so loud at idle you can barely stand next to it .you hear him from a mile away
