No, they are telling you wrong on this. While headers will improve performance, they will not come producing the same amount of power as adding a turbo. You have to increase the fuel to create more power, and you cannot turn the fuel much at all on a 6.2 without increasing airflow via forced...
I have a friend that has one in a parts Blazer. I can get you a price tomorrow. It will probably be very reasonable, as he bought it for the engine. Where in 'Bama are you?
I thought about the roll bar too, but I like the look of it with no top at all, and drove it that way most of the summer. I'd just like a soft top for rainy or cool weather and when I go on road trips where I stay overnight. I definitely like the hardtop when its cold!;)
One of my friends does upholstery work, and he going to make me a soft top for M1009 that I can use in warmer months. I originally was going to copy one of the standard soft tops out there, but now I'm thinking of doing a slant back style soft top. I bought an extra Blazer top with the ambitious...
The 6.2 and the Cummins are 2 totally different animals. The biggest diifference is that the 6.2's compression ratio is 21.5 : 1 and the Cummins is 17.5 : 1 - 18 : 1, but the 6.2 is also an indirect injection design (vs direct on the Cummins) and the 6.2 has uncoated, cast pistons vs forged in...
Are you talking about the movie truck? The guard on the Canadian CUCV is very similar to our's. The one on the movie truck is - um - a creation to say the least!8)
As long as you keep the EGT at 1000 or below, you will be fine. 1/4 is too much without a turbo, but you can usually get away with 1/8 of turn with stock 6.2.
THIS - except turn the screw counter-clockwise.
You turn up the fuel by taking off the small cover on the drivers side of the injection pump. It is very small, and has 2 screws holding it on. You will need to remove the throttle cable and bracket to see the cover. Once this cover is off...
Turning up the fuel on a 6.2 is an easy task, IMO.
Some people take the top of the IP apart, and remove the fuel solenoid out and all that, but I've never done it that way. Here's a good write up on how to do it:
You turn up the fuel by taking off the small cover on the drivers side of the...
I just put 33 X 12.50's on my M1009, and they have no rubbing issues (even with me trying to flex it a little) They are a little narrower than most of the 12.50's I've had though.
All things being equal, yes it would effect mileage. However, at least me for me, it runs so much stronger that I find myself not putting my foot in it as much because I don't have to. The truck accellerates and pulls hills so much better that with the fuel turned up that I don't have to "stomp...
Someone backed into her SUV, and we had to have the rear door fixed and repainted, and she had to drive the M1009 for a couple of days because its the only other thing big enough to take the kids to daycare and school. She complained, moaned, and groaned, but on 3 different occasions people came...
