Hadn't thought about camper-top clamps, that might be the more secure way to do it and I've probably got a few lying around the shop if the aluminum gnomes didn't carry them away last Summer when scrap got so high...
The Jeep top latches are looking pretty good for the windshield, looking at...
It's nice weather and I'd like to set up a hardtop to be a little easier on and off for fair weather cruising, use a pulley system from the shop ceiling to snatch it off in a few moments, quicker than removing a soft top I'd hope. Yeah, I know, leave it topless but around here barn dust, birds...
HA, this dog would run from rats like that, especially if it had any sense!
With the late '95 rebuild tags on components I called it a '96, no harm done if I'm a little off. Now to get title/tag,etc. though that doesn't stop me from driving around my rural area.
I've got a few miles on this...
We like big trucks and little dogs. That's Dr. Dre Hamby Rose, an 9 week old rat terrier... (Hey, my kids named the puppy)
The only problems were the soft-top insulation was all decayed and making a huge mess, the Alabama sun has killed both the top and bed cover, and it needed batteries...
Brought the M35A3C home yesterday from Ft. Rucker, lots of $$ but people spend more on Kawasaki Mules... Had to replace the batteries but what a nice ride, the Cat, Allison and Air-o-Matic are niiiiice, haven't gone off roading so we don't know about the CIS, singles and hydraulic winch yet! (I...
What about sodium hydroxide a.k.a. lye? I've used Red Devil to clean tractor fuel tanks but now the local hardware doesn't carry it any longer, citing dopeheads using it to make methamphetamine... I've seen lye online though, any drawbacks to lye other than it showing you where the pinholes are...
Paid $8,200 but it only has 1567 miles & 247 hours on it so though it seems like a lot for a Deuce I think I did OK, always wanted one, don't have a wife to answer to , had the $, etc... I've seen some sell for a lot more in the past!
Just lost my mind this afternoon and bought an A3... Are there any special concerns w/ recovering these?
Is the Allison auto (545?) 'normal' in the sense that it can be winched onto the lowboy, rolled off, etc while in the usual neutral, at rest and not running postion?
Can you air up the...
I've grossed 34k hauling dolomitic limerock on my M35 w/ 5 Ton dumpbed (see avatar). Now before people whine, this is only a short distance run down almost deserted country roads from lime-pit to my farm/timberland. The lack of power steering isn't that big a deal offroad IF you are moving, I...
It's a multifuel, the truck has chalk writing all over it indicating it's flaws, one line saying 'new engine w/ oil leak' and I have no reason to doubt it from the looks of the engine vs. the rest of the engine compartment... How much should the plunger in the IP head move? Will some measurement...
Experienced a no-start Friday with what had been a running truck, just no fuel to injectors. Fuel is getting to the IP, taking the plug out of the top of the IP head and running elec. pump makes plenty. There is not much at the injectors when cranking and without much pressure, certainly not...
Pull one and take the seal/guts to a GOOD hydraulic shop, you'd be amazed at the variety of o-rings and seals available off the shelf. I do this before ordering expensive seal kits from Komatsu, JD, etc stealers, I mean dealers... Who knows, it might just be standard SAE o-rings for seals!
I've built two Deuce dumps, one with a 5-ton dump body and the other with a commercial hoist frame and the stock M35 body. Both were PTO driven, I think that's the way to go if you really use the dump more than to haul firewood twice a year and the 5-ton body is tough if you haul rock or rough...
Just screw up the EUC, it's game over then. GL won't resubmit, ask for revisions, etc, they just cancel the sale if the EUC is rejected. I should know, my business EUC (corp. in exisitence 15 years) was rejected with no explaination, no second chance, no additional info request, GL wouldn't...
Are those the ending prices? I was a bidder on both but, in the usual GL fashion, the lots don't show up in my watchlist/bid history now, LOL!!! It's a tight ship they run...
UPDATE: GL says bid history for EUC items is only available to the winning bidder!!! But I've looked at plenty...
WOW!!! I'm out of this race, already one is at $14,833 and the other (w Winches) is $13,833 and the sale doesn't close until tom. afternoon... It'll be fun to watch the rest of the auction!
The first thing I'd do would be call the GL site and see if they'll let you drive it off, that's strictly verboten at some sites where EVERYTHING has to be hauled out regardless of condition, tags, insurance, phase of moon, race, religion or sex...
Montgomery will let you drive a vehicle out...
Usually people get lost on the way TO somewhere, not the way BACK, LOL!! Besides, our Gulf beaches here are beautiful, ya shoulda taken Wrecker's detour though you might have had some problems with the lowboy in beach access parking lots...
Glad you made it back in one piece, was door...
Exactalackly and they are in my backyard basically. AND I actually have use for a big tractor with winches/crane pulling a lowboy moving our heavy equipment... But my Ford LN9000 w/Cat, 9 spd and 40k winch is pretty reliable and easy to find parts for, the M1001 is another thing altogether!
