Alright I'm still figuring out the picture thing. Post 1 has a picture of the back of my voltmeter and a picture of the truck. I'm going to start here. Does the wiring look correct for the voltmeter? or should there be an additional one? The gray/white wire goes into the bulb correct?
looks...
Well I finally got a piece of green iron, its an '86 M1008 that spent its formative years in I'm guessing the Ohio National Guard and later retired from public service with the Indiana Forestry Service. Its a bone stock M1008, its older, a little rusty, slow, and loud so naturally we have a love...
Well... thats definitely within my price range. Maybe I'll have a 5 ton after all... now I just need to figure out where to park the dang thing.
Well looked up his site, no 939 series listed in my price range. Had an 813 and 814 that were close to it. Maybe those 3k or so trucks are local price?
I'm going to start a thread for my little M1008, I'm not gonna lie, I'm more than a little lost with it and this way I won't clutter up this thread with questions.
As for what I did with mine today... just admired it in the garage for a while and noticed the drivers side seems to be tilted down...
I'm sure there will be plenty of people more than willing to pull my little truck out. But I'll keep your offer in mind. Who knows maybe I'll make enough between now and then to get a 5 ton since ive been told the supplies are dying up a bit.
I'll probably have my little ATV out there, just need to fix a minor oil leak. But I think I might take the M1008 down the trails, so long as I dont get stuck in a 5 ton rut :driver:
I'm just looking forward to it... Although I have a lot of work to do to the truck between now and then. Kind of glad I don't have a 5 ton some days my back hurts just looking at one of those things. Maybe I need to work out more.
Cleaned aformentioned fuel cans... kinda... I'm assuming its black algae of some sort living in those things... So swished some gasoline around in them pretty good and let them sit. I haven't check them in a few days. Attempted to install slave cable recepticle cover... I thought it would be...
$1200? I'd have jumped on it too! Your old one looks pretty good too, I'd be kicking myself for selling it too.
I'm sure people would pay to have their car look like it goes that fast!
You may want to add more than just the two roll bars at either end. Speaking as someone who spent enough time jostling around in the back of a 7 ton (replaced the 5 tons) a helmet should be mandatory. Don't want your friedns to become "special" friends
http://www.mvcconline.org/catagory3/images/Brett%20Williams/M923-18.JPG is a link to a pic, I can't upload it from this PC. Its not a guarantee that the ABS will be functioning. I dont have a lot of experience with the ABS system in these trucks. But there have been a few people who have had...
