Singles are the best offroad. The Army now runs singles on all (virtually) tactical vehicles. Tire design matters too. If you are still running NDCC, ditch those and get some Michelins XL or XZL.

I don't know what you are referring to here. On the rims I have, the oring lies in a groove and is compressed when the bolts are tightened. What do you mean "ease the outer rim edge over it?"

Here is what I do, the manual may provide better insight. Insert beadlock. Make sure the rim is clear of debris and smooth. Make sure tire bead is smooth and clean and use a little tire bead goo. Set rim on a small block to eleveate from the ground a few inches. Lay tire over base...
Anybody know about early 80s White cabovers used by the military for carrying 20' ISO containers and command centers? I remember seeing 2 or 3 up on GL recently (Alabama?). Anyone have a link or pictures to that?

I think 1600s are too big for a deuce. I prefer the 395s. Neither one should be used with a stock rim, although it is possible to mount them. You could run dual 1100s on stock rims. I don't think I have seen that done on a bobbed deuce. I have seen dual 900s.
