RE: 2 cents???
Lee's advice is good and accurate!
I have seen Army deuces with 11R20 XLs tires in the dual configuration. With that said, there is a difference between what *fits*, what *works*, and what is best. In response to your question on other tire sizes, here is what I have...
The HEMATs were designed for use with the HEMTT. I've been looking for one of these to pull behind my M1075 PLS and I plan on bidding on it. If you have a serious interest and plan to bid, please let me know. Thanks.

operating under the...
RE: Is the "Bridge Trucks" rated correct at only 5
It used to be the military load ratings were under the 'worst conditions' with usually double that capacity on highway. I think the M939 series 5 tons don't have the increased highway rating. Only the basic, worst case rating provided. The...
I also think that 14R20 is the way to go on the 5 tons, unless you have a bridge truck. Axle spacing is 52" and tires are 52". Bridge truck axle spacing is 56".
RE: wrecker
I put a substantial bid in on it. Nobody else bid and maybe I'll get it for cheap (unlikey). I'll just paint it 383 and have the nicest M816 around!
Empty weight is 28,880#. Yes to the spacers. 56" axle spacing. Yes to the tires (if you can find them). Don't forget to work on your spelling. School is your friend!
