Rant all you want about decaf, bobbers, & Loraina...but I'm still stuck getting past "Harley- Speed and handling." Metric Bike Spicer...signing off- :-D
Personally I wouldn't put the 1100 x 20's on an A3 or HEMTT wheel. I don't like more exposure on sidewalls and they're designed to pinch in a little on the sides to fit a smaller wheel.
Billet flywheel, billet converter...etc. Is that 4L80E under $5,000?? A tranny costing twice what a guy paid for truck in some case may be way out of the question-
Point proven though...the thing will stand power! :-D
The deuce trans will handle more than 300 pounds of torque. I'm not going to drop names of people that know this or manufacture gears but there's usually a 2x safety margin. So you should be able to get away with that 240hp 427TD making it's 400-some ft/lbs for a damn long time. I have that...
Some of the holes match up to an SAE bell pattern where others or moved. The driver's side expecially for the winch driveshaft. Typical things, input length, pilot bearing size, clutch size, T/O issues, etc. you may be able to adapt it to the transmission size and not have to worry about that...
I had that happen when I first go into deuces. Tried like hell to get a wheel off the driver's side of the truck with a 3/4" breaker bar and pipe. Went to my buddies place and he tried with his big impact...still nothing. We went to a local truck place he know everyone well at and grabbed...
Make sure the bed of the truck isn't loaded too heavy either; I've found that not enough weight on the front will affect the towbar tracking. And with NDT's...make sure they're up to the proper tire pressure or you'll want to shoot yourself in the face by the end of that excursion.
don't lose the nut that holds the output yoke on either. Very hard to find thread...something 1 - 32...been a while but it's real fine for a larger shaft size. I got another nut, cut the threads out, then cut the 32 (or whatever very fine they are) into it then.
The guys with 46" tires (aka TRACTION) on the front axle should read the above thread since the No Darn Traction stockers will slip on wet leaves. Oh, or tractor pull hopping on blacktop may do it too- ;-)
Guys...some of you know and some may not know. Every time you turn the cable with the snatch block, you basically double the pull power of the winch. One block and the 10K winch becomes 20K, two and the 20K becomes 40K. A third?! Let's try not to cut anyone in half here okay?
JATonka- I think it was back in 2000 give or take a year or two and I was in a Dodge garage and they had a new dually up on the rack. I walked under the truck to look at the rear and they were tagged 4:10 & 4:11's. I pointed it out to the service manager, an acquaintance of mine and he had...
So you had it running back and fourth over the snatch blocks to give the winch more power but what about that last line of cable going from that last turn to the HEMTT? That will be the one trying to drag out a stuck 60,000 lb machine. You could put 19 turns in the cable but there is still...
If you can catch a bearing going away early enough it may not have hurt the crank. If not...that's a bit more work.
Engine rule of thumb is 10psi oil pressure for every thousand rpm. 10 @ 1,000- 20 @ 2,000 etc. I know when my CAT gets to operating temps the oil pressure at idle will go...
Don't forget to consider front tire weight ratings and big inch diesel engine redline's too. Stock 900x 20's get you 8,000 lbs for the front axle. Guess what? My 1160 V8 CAT and front winch have 8,000 lbs on my front axle. A3 wheels and different tires got me out of that bind.
Lets talk rpm...
I left the M715Zone because of crap like that and haven't looked back. The board turned sour.
Anyway...as far as Big Block Chevy's and adding cubes to them; one of the best deals running used to be to get a National Dragster magazine, turn it over then go two pages in from the back. Parts...
Yep, that's pretty much the back up plan. I was hoping not to have to cannabalize 6 wheels when I could just round up some ring-
BTW...those wheels you made are great!!!
