    For Sale: VELVET.

Yes folks, I'm selling my giant M715 Velvet. This was the truck that was a two event winner at Top Truck Challenge '05. Tow Test and Mud Pit. This truck is drive-train solid, like rock solid. body is in okay condition but does have a few scrapes and a crease on one door. Bed floor is...

    Bleeding the Master Cyc

I love my Hydro-Max power assist braking. No air, no alarm, and as soon as the engine is off the starter I have full braking and always a nice firm pedal feel.

    Failed turbo install

I had some exhaust work that I needed done on Velvet one time on the driver's side. It was pretty tight but I knew a decent muffler shop could get it to work. The shop I wanted to use was too far to get the truck to so I took it to another explained everything to him and he said it would be...

    HEMTT Wheels

They're pretty much designed for a more narrow wheel than the HEMTT wheel's. I would be surprised if the wheel size is okay'ed by Michelin to 10". Even their 1200x 24's are only approved for 8" & 8.5" wheels.

best way to clean out fuel tank?

A buddy of mine into mil veh's would put some gravel into the tank, then ratchet strap it to his tractor tire and drive around for a little while. That worked real well-

    Bleeding the Master Cyc

There's another way too. Take a small electric fuel pump 3-5 or 5-7psi and connect a piece of brake line into the vent fitting on the top of the MC. Connect via clear rubber tube (makes seeing the fluid easiest) to the line going into the top of the MC and the other side of the pump into an...

Anyone know where to get M35 data plates?

Jeff at FrontLine used to have them. Don't know if he still does or is still around-

    Started Wayjax Crane Deuce

Good and bad part about a crane taking up that much space- Good is that you're close to the tandems as far as unsupported frame length so not much worry there and you've got the outriggers on the other side of it. My M977 is set up similarly on my truck. Bad is you're down to an 8' bed...oh...

    Winch band brake question

Take if off and forget it was on there. This has been debated a time ago...I've taken them off of my winches and never had one unspool under load. Winches that are a little 'loose' or may have been abused have been said to slowly unspool. Think of the dynamics of what's involved: you're...

2.5 ton Rockwell Third Member question

A good trick for seperating the 225 lb third member (chunk) is to take a couple of nickels (yep, five cents) and place them in between the top of the stud and the bottom of the casting under the pinion side of the chunk where it overhangs the studs that hold it into the axle housing. As you...

    Twin Turbo Deuce

Here's a pic of my twin stacks I've had for...wow, sometime now. Maybe 5 or 6 years. I put duals on it when I put the 1160 V8 CAT in. Oh, also note in the third pic you can see the air filter assembly I used. The filter housing is off of the passenger side corner of an old Mack cab. I layed...

    Exaust Brake

A LOT of municipalities have their signs wrong when they state, No Exhaust Brakes, or No Brake Retarders...only on occasion will you see a correct sign stating, No "Jake" Brakes. Jake is not an exhaust brake, its an engine brake that makes the exhaust sound we all love on a down hill through...

road ranger 10 speed to multifuel?

I split with the transfer case all the time...but only in lower gears. Usually with a moderate load I'll just split from starting in second low, to second high, then stay in high. Occassionally if the load is big or start off is steep, I'll start in first low, second low, then second high...
