I just noticed in your first post, that they ran the truck on kerosene. Thats not the best thing for the injector pump, as its not as lubricative as regular diesel fuel. Depending on if they ran it on that for a long time, you may be looking at a injector pump rebuilt in the future.

I wouldnt put a solargizer on a cucv, since the main load is not spread across both batteries, this will cause one to be over-charged and the other battery to be under-charged.
This info has been posted many many many times before, it is a recurring theme for guys that get their first cucv. This information is being added to the cucv faq thread, with the hopes of quelling the questions about this system.

For the drivers side alt you need to replace the PS pump belt and tighten it first, then put the alt belt on that side and tighten it up. The alt belts...

That's a first. I've never heard of that happening before. Check out the unit maintenance manual in the Troubleshooting thread at the top of the forum. It has the wiring diagrams in it, your gonna have to check the wire running to the horn switch in the steering column for power...
I just pour some in each hole, before putting it on the mount, I dont fill it all the way, otherwise you get a big mess when you flip it uright to slide on the filter base.
