    Compression Ignition Engine fuels

I can't find anything related to that off of the below fuel references page and I can only find that specification referred to from a pointer page for a defunct document. IS there an NSN to that fuel? http://iash.net/resources/fuel_specifications.php But Diesel differs from JP5 and JP8 in that...

    Compression Ignition Engine fuels

Now, from what I've seen on my google searching so far, I'm starting to think it's a non-Road use Diesel Fuel of some sort. Let me dig some more.

    Compression Ignition Engine fuels

Ok, I did some searching.... Kerosene and JP fuels are largely the same. It's more or less the additives and blending that changes them. JP5 and JP8 being almost the same, to us on the ground they're exactly the same. JP 4 is a kerosene naptha blend. From the Single Fuel Forward Compendium...

    Towing Pintle questions...

Its a 10,000 gvw short length beaver tail. It'll hold a Ferret just fine. But a HMMWV is too big for it. It's just heavy enough un-loaded that me and the former owner can move it around, barely....It probably needs the bearings serviced (I'm going to have a busy Christmas).

    Replacing brake fluid

I've used a vacuum bleeder. It's not bad, but one needs to be sure to not let the fluid run out in the master cylinder. What's the deal with the master cylinder filler? Need a screwdriver or a wrench to open the panel, then another wrench to remove the vent tube, then another to remove the cap...

    More Power

On the NH250 Cummins, the fuel pump is adjusted/calibrated with shims under a spring plunger device. As I understand it this is to adjust two things, the governor and the fuel delivery rate.

    Towing Pintle questions...

Ok, so I went to pick up a trailer from a local MVer who has one for sale. We had various issues but the key one was that the Lunette eye wouldn't go over the pintle on my Deuce! He'd had it working on his and it had be ground down slightly to fit but my 2.5 ton won't take the lunette eye. So I...

Surplus Center is a good place for Hydraulics from what I understand. http://www.surpluscenter.com/

    Sound/Heat insulation?

Well, I'm more or less thinking more critically about when summer in Georgia rolls round. Heck Summer in Virginia is bloody hot too in August.

    Deuce Top Question...

Oh, do the M35A3's have the same cab width as the 900 series 5 tons?

    Sound/Heat insulation?

The thing about this insulation is how to apply it to the inside of the cab with out it looking like crap? Dynamat makes some kind of spray that would seem to be better than these pads for insulation. Thoughts?

    Electric winch

Brad, I looked at that for my 5 ton for the bed. If you're going for the same weight capacity, you're looking at about the same cost once it's all installed. Good cable for hooking up to the battery is going to be expensive. BTW, Where in Atlanta are you? I'm Inside the Perimeter, are you too?

I'm now a Deuce Owner traded the 5 ton.

I sure hope your dad enjoys the 5 ton. I'll keep an eye out for those 6' ISO containers so you can really use the ISO bed.

I'm now a Deuce Owner traded the 5 ton.

First thing I want to do is increase stowage of gear under the bed. I added a second tool chest to the 5 ton and that gave me huge volumes of tool and fluids stowage that has now either been pushed to the bed out in the weather or to the under passenger seat area. I'm thinking a chain locker...

I'm now a Deuce Owner traded the 5 ton.

Today I met with Dave and his son over at PDK airport and we swapped tools and kit off each other's trucks, pointed out various things on the other truck and filled out paperwork. He's now the proud (I hope) owner of a 5 ton and I'm the proud owner of a 2.5 ton. I drove the 5 ton into work...

    M813 Power issues...

Took the 813 out today. Lots more power now. And reliably too. Much better. Looks like I'll feel better trading it to David S. too. We've got Tuesday slated for the swap of trucks and some gear.

    M813 Power issues...

I might end up doing that. But I really needed to solve this power problem if I'm going to swap it for David's Deuce. I got a good bit of gunk out of there. There might be some left, but it's a much smaller amount. I'll see what the fuel filter shows after I take it out and run around fora bit...

    M813 Power issues...

I think I've solved my power problem issue. I swapped the fuel filter and tried getting at the filter on the fuel pump. Couldn't get into it. The slotted cover just doesn't want to budge so I left that filter there (figure it'll get pulled when the pump is rebuilt). So, trying to prime the...

    Tire step

Why not hang a cable and metal bar step from the front bumper like on the back of Power Line trucks.
