It was up for about 10 minutes and then locked again. I've got 1 web page open to keep an eye on my sales, when the page tries to refresh it locks and then won't go back. I'm sure they're working on it but that doesn't mean it's going to stay working.
GL is down again. When you try to log on it goes to a page with "Server Error." Looks like they'll be extending the auctions again to try and make a little extra. If that's the case, I'm done with them for good. Once could be an actual error, but twice on sale close day? Don't think so.
I have MS and bought my 1009 specifically to drive daily. Since I'm losing a lot of strength and coordination in my legs and arms I had to have something that was an automatic and had power steering and power brakes. Since this is a full size vehicle it can be easily modified for hand controls...
I've bought 2 1009s this year. The first one out of Anniston, AL needed batteries and after about 2000 miles in 1 month, u-joints. The second one came out of Oklahoma City, OK and got forklifted. It had 1 bad motormount that dropped onto the fuel line and crushed it, a bent steering tube, 1...
Of all the things I was bidding/watching the only ones that seem to be bringing more than normal are the 1009s. Usual shape but going for about $500 over normal. The M35A3s actually seem to be almost a grand less. What they should have done is cancel all the auctions that were going on at the...
I have to give a huge thank you to Warthog . He went above, beyond and then about another 10 miles in helping me with the recovery of my latest M1009. Not only did he pick it up from GL but he spent countless hours getting it running and swapping out some steering components that either GL or...
A lot of you know "Sarge" from his posts and the adventures he and Rory have picking up different vehicles. I'm sure many of you have also read of his Katrina experiences but I think anyone who hasn't read his story needs to. This is a man who thinks of others far more than he thinks of...
Thought the same thing many a time stuck in some hell hole like Ft. Polk. That's before I moved here and realized most of the "nurses" were going through combat medic training. Same poor saps I was stuck at Polk with:|
Rod said the 5 tons wouldn't start so not so sure they got a really great deal. I was just out at Sam yesterday but the yard was locked so didn't see the new deuces. I'm usually out there at least once a week if anyone needs a preview. I'm looking for a deuce also so don't expect to steal one...
Thumbing through the auctions today and came across something interesting. A govt owned K5 (not a CUCV) Blazer that proudly boasts 5k miles and 230 hours. That got me curious as I had never known a Blazer CUCV or not, even with a diesal, to have an hour meter. Turns out I was correct as what...
Obviously something is only worth what one person is willing to give and one person is willing to take. That being said, you're probably looking at any where from $500 - $2500. There have been some fairly nice, running trucks go on eBay for less than $2500. No brakes, no wiring, no running...
Mine WAS previewed before I bought it and the fork lift damage showed up between then and when I had it picked up. Since I wasn't the one picking it up the damage wasn't reported so I have no recourse. Everyone saying it happened at DRMO and not at GL is just giving GL the benefit of the...
