    GL experience Feedback

Translation- If you want to preview something at Redstone that isn't up for bid yet, take WM with you or have him preview it for you. ;-)

    Broken door handle

You should be able to enter the cab on the other side, remove the bottom panel, and reach in there to operate the latch.

    Questions about my truck

Only thing I can say about the steering is get somebody to turn the wheel back and forth while you look at the steering components for loose joints and such. I will say that if it's a gearbox, they are a real pain to replace.

    No Electrical Flow!

Sounds like a ground problem to me.

    Titling m936wrecker

I bet they were listed as condition code "H7" which means unserviceable. A sf97 should be available if this is the case. OP, You'll need a sf97 to register your trucks in TN. Go to your GL account page, click on "forms", open the sf97 form, fill it out, send them $60, and you'll get a sf97 in...

CUCV 's bought at State auctions

GL auctions are straight from the federal government. Even though they may have been sitting for several years before being sold and maintenance may have been lacking toward the end, they have been kept in pretty good condition their whole life. When state and local governments get MVs they...

Steel Soldiers emails and site issues

I sure am glad you're running this place instead of me. I thought a plug in was one of those air fresheners that plug into a wall socket. :-D We are grateful that we have somebody such as yourself that knows how to fix these things. I do good to log into my own account.

    M936 is a M936 no more

I finally went out and spread the first load of lime today. Had 17 tons on. I found out I could use a little more hp on the hills and the trans shift points need to be adjusted. It also rides rough when the springs sit on the big bar the wreckers have. Other than that it performed like it...

Rewiring 939 Series 5-Ton to Eliminate Electronic Controls

Every 855cid Cummins I've ever seen had an electric fuel shutoff and the manual screw in override. I'm not saying they don't make a cable control but I've never seen one.

    M939, no spring (parking) brakes

I'm not sure there is a -34 manual for the M939. I haven't found one anywhere or any reference to one. The -24 manual pretty well covers everything and is more in depth than the -24 manuals on other trucks. I tend to think they put all the info in the -24 for this series.

    M939, no spring (parking) brakes

I finally figured out what the problem was. First off all the brakes were bad out of adjustment. The main problem though was a maxi chamber screw up on the drivers side front tandem. This wheel just happened to be the one I jacked up and was having the problem with the spring brake not applying...

    Heater core leaking

I've never understood why the heater cores are so hard to get to on civilian vehicles. On most vehicles you can replace a engine about as easy as you can replace a heater core.

    M939 behind the cab platform

My M936 didn't have one. I'll go out on a limb and say it's for a GPS. Kind of like what you see a lot of civilian big trucks using these days.

T-case PTO oil line check valve

The elbow check valve is actually oriented horizontally in the elbow. It also has the same fragile spring as the others do. I will agree it doesn't seem like a positive seal though. I'll take a pic of the valve and post it up.

T-case PTO oil line check valve

I think I can check it. My truck has a dump so raising the bed gives you pretty good access to the PTO.

Cleaning up the cranetruck to sell

Glad you ended up with it. I'd say that's probably the most famous truck on the site. I actually still can't believe he sold it.
