Good point Michael, in the CCW class here, the instructor makes that issue a point during the class. He says that if you get pulled over, tell the police officer that you have a CCW permit when you hand him your drivers license. ALSO tell him if you are carrieing a weapon or not. Because once he...
Do not flame me, but I am with Doghead on this one.
I have bought two houses, when I bought the first one over 21 years ago I asked about the zoning laws, and was given a copy for my naborhood. At that time I had two WWII trucks and wanted to make sure I could have them in that area. I started...

Were you wearing a cap with something Navy on it? I was at Camp Lejuene yesterday and two guys were starting up a M35 and working on it.

You need to go to church this morning, your M35 angel was with you.
At Camp Lejeune, we had a Marine killed and his co driver was very badly hurt when the same thing happened. They were in a 5 ton, forgot to latch the hood down.

Rich does have a nice M211, and he is right about the deisel. But, with me it is the cost of the deisel in the hauling truck to get his M211 to North Carolina!!!

Wow!! they are still "lost" after 30 years! I used to go to that museum when I was in high school back in the 70s. They have got some great stuff, but the staff was clueless on military items. Some of the items I pointed out to them as a young teenager...
1. the WWI display had a 1905 bayonet...
A Marine here (he joined the Marines in June 1941, and spent 30 years in our Corps), said while he was in charge of 8th motors on Camp Lejuene. He had two Marines, that went to every truck he had in his command, and once a week, just pumped the brakes. He said that was the big item that dead...
You have 7 days to get the paper work in, if there is something wrong, they will give you 5 more days for a total of 12 days. 12 days! trees don't live that long!. I have had problems before with my drivers lic. being faxed in, GL worked with me and I got it corrected. They had also answsered...
I had a Marine that went to pick up his new bride in his new pick up truck. He put her stuff in the back and cover it with one of those blue tarps you buy at wally world.
One corner of the tarp came lose and rubbed the side of his truck. He drove over 3 states and did not notice it. It looked...
I turn stuff into DRMO every week, the stuff is stored outside. We want the markings to stay on the item we turned in, and so does GL.
I have heard the horror stories of "items" having the numbers flipped after an auction. The paint pen is what they use to prevent this.

The WWII CCKW had a wooden steering wheel, during the war. After the war, some were replaced with plastic ones during the post war rebuilds. There was no reason to use a wooden steering wheel after 1945.
Could the truck your friend is looking at be a WWII CCKW that has the rebuild date on the...
I "almost" got mine today. GL sent them to my old address, something I had corrected with them on my last several purchases. On my last truck, they assured me, they had my correct address. .....FedEx sent the SF97s back to sended. This has been my only move in over 20 years, I keep fighting...
All the crates at the Marine base I work on are not painted. We throw away hundreds every month, the crates we deep six are the crates the parts are shipped back to us in. We have a shop that builds news ones for the parts after they are rebuilt.

I have a friend here that has 4 USMC cattle cars. He said if I wanted one he would sell it to me for $1500. One of them has been made into a moble office. I am thinking of getting one just to put on display here with the rest of the collection, it would be neat to show new Marines what we were...
Sorry, I fell on my sword....I just checked my paper work and I DID NOT pay taxes on the trucks I bought, it was the other items I was taxed on that I had gotten. My mistake....sorry GL...
