Start cheap,fuel lines checked to make sure not pinched off,new lift pump,a fuel press. gauge helps.Maybe fuel sock in tank plugged?For fuel press.gauges I use Mr.Gasket# 1560 mounted inline from pump and#1561 screwed into spin on filter housing on exit side,this way I know if fuel pump going...
Sounds like you have done pretty good on your own,I would add oil press.gauge and do a compression check,maybe trans. temp gauge.And you should show some picts of rack and offroad light set-up. Keep up the good work. My 1009 approaching 95k,bought it with 64k,getting ready to replace IP...
Could be lift pump,mine did this once,the rubber line actually squeezed off in front of pump and starved motor of fuel.After this I put fuel pressure gauges before filter and after,makes it easy to diagnose.
Ran some errands today,kept smelling a whiff of antifreeze,got home popped hood no leaks.Turn truck off look under hood again,steam rising up from left tank on radiator,Great, new radiator in future.
Received rebuilt IP today,not sure I want to tackle this on my own for first time.Changed thermostat and upper hose,switched KC Highlite lenses from offroad long range to fog lenses,much nicer.Still kept 100w bulbs and no one flashes brights at me.
You guys were right the hotstart unit is really nice,but much bigger than I thought.Will save for future use.Gonna install Temro 1000w freeze plug heater soon.Thanks for input.
Recently purchased a block heater from Derby on here.Its a sb115100-000,1500w,Going to feed it from lower radiator hose,but wondering if I should run through heater core or if it would be better to route into block through a freeze plug with an adaptor welded on?Or into coolant cross-over...
