The 7.5 and 8.5 refers to ring gear diam. There are tons of 8.5 10 bolts in the yards, they put them in nearly everything, even in the Buick Turbo Grand Nationals. They are actually pretty strong rears. And the 8.5 rear covers are not vehicle specific, so you can pull a cover off any 8.5. Good way to...
I have been thinking about going with 3/8npt to 10an fittings in block then 10an braided hose to 10an to 1/2 npt to a B&M 70266 cooler, even the civy units had oil cooler so My thinking is it is a benefit to our trucks.
My 1009 is manual gp only, was that way when I got it,I glow for 15 secs. when warm out,20 when its colder out and up to 30 secs.when its 0 out.Have 60G plugs,no swellers yet.24 volt starter, everything else 12volt including gps.
Maybe its the short piece of rubber fuel from hard line feeding mech.lift pump, and the noise sounds like a bad ujoint at rear end.My fuel line went bad a same spot.
Or you can get a coolant crossover from a Humvee, they have 3 extra ports. One for temp gauge, one for elect.fan controller and one for an anode.2 are 1/2npt and 1 is 3/8 I think.
I know where you are coming from,my 1009 is also my one and only.I now keep a stock of parts, spare set of glowplugs(60gs),mech. pump, elect. pump, fuel filters,a 24v starter and a 12v starter just in case I go that way.In addition to the starter bolts and starter support brackets.
I would not call that collection a graveyard of dead CUCVs,It looks more like a birthplace of future projects,I wish I was your neighbor.Your junk looks nicer than my daily driver 1009.(its my only vehicle right now).
When I did the LMC upgrade I used an abrasive wheel to grind paint off on core support, then used self tappers with star washers to attach new grounds.Worked well. And your rig looks great in new paint, saw it last weekend.Hopefully can get mine out of the red paint soon.
Thanks for the input guys, but how would an IP that's been turned up for a turbo and marine injectors perform on a NA 6.2.I don't want to be blowing smoke and waste fuel.
