    Im looking at a used rebuilt IP,less than 5k miles on rebuild (750$for the rebuild),He doesn't Know what was done to pump but it was set-up for a turbo 6.2 with marine type injectors.Will it work on a N/A 6.2? I would think for 750$ it has new head and rotor,but not sure,Can I just turn it down...

    I recently changed oil and filter for winter,went with Rotella T-6 and Napa 1794 filter,650 miles no oil use or leaks,spins over very good.But only been down to 20 here .So far.I also installed new glows and I use power service white every fill up.I really think if I could get my block heater...

    Keep us posted,especially what mech#1 did wrong.I plan on installing new IP this month sometime.Or having a local diesel mech. do it for 250$.

    not so cold no start.

    Looking at my new tank and sending unit sitting in my living room the only vent I see is the one that is in the throat of filler tube,so must be cap,Ill either drill small hole in cap or continue to run with cap loose.Thanks for the input guys.With cap loose it does start great again and runs...

    Get rid of box style fuel filter add spin on,do a compression check,add oil pressure and coolant temp gauge.

    Replacement Batteries: Exide, not Optima.

    You are right,I have red tops in my 1009,going on my third winter and 30k miles with them.No problems starting down to -3,If I had to do it again I would get yellowtops.I do rotate them once a year.I have jump started people but so far never needed one.

    Thanks doghead,I have manual only GPs and gave it plenty of cool time before the ether.I hated to use it.What do you think about the air in system,then lack of it after releasing vacuum on tank.

    Sunday it was 20 out and 1009 fired up like a new truck.This morning it was 40 and no start,called boss ,took vac.day and went back to bed til it got light out.I figured GPs,which are 60Gs and pretty new.Or IP finally let go.I have clear fuel line on my return so I can keep track of air bubbles...

    When I bought my 1009 gauge didn't work,drove it about 20k before I replaced with used one.It works now and is really nice to have.

    1009 likes rotella t-6

    Was 20 here this am,truck started like new,60lbs. pressure cold,40-50 psi hot,and was much more quiet than with 15w-40 rotella t3.

    I would undo everything you did,then do some searching before doing any mods.Your mess up doesn't even qualify as a newbie screw up.
