What Model is This and would I need a CDL in Texas to drive it?

Let me ask a simple question, do you currently hold a cdl?

What Model is This and would I need a CDL in Texas to drive it?

It's not the weight of the trailer you want to pull, it's the GVW of the truck that sets the required class. That is why a brand new Dodge 3500 doesn't require a cdl because the GCWR is under 26000 even though according to the website it can tow a max of 30K If you hold a cdl you would know...

    axle shaft joints

Alright, so me and the wife tackled it together and would you know it, it's whole again. Getting the three out of the 4 outer balls in is a piece of cake, it's the 4th that takes you for a loop. You have to get it at just the right angle, lift it up a little, and a little whack with a rubber...

Alright, got it out. Went ant bought the tool from napa that lasted 2 mins. First try bent the long nose, second took out a rivet. Took my small crowbar that I kept on the truck, got it in the washer, put my 10 foot pole on it and gave it a tug. Bent the pole, moved up closer and pushed down...

    axle shaft joints

Most of your comments make me laugh. I was thinking about it yesterday and the wife said the same thing. She looked at it and said the ball with the rod can only go in one place. The place I got my longer studs work on rockwells so I'm going to ask them about it, and see how much the newer ones...

    axle shaft joints

It stayed together when I took it out, rolled around, pressure washing it and such. Yesterday I tried your suggestion on using the axle shaft and when it didn't budge the seal I went to set it down and it came apart.

    axle shaft joints

Not wanting to start a new thread since my issue relates to this. How does one reassemble the joints. Mine came apart yesterday and now I need to tackle the reassembly. I'm going to clean it up today with a small wire wheel on my drill and coat it with some prep and etc before I put it back in.

Are they supposed to come apart like that, and how easy are they to put back together. When you say cross style, you mean actual universal joints instead of the ball bearings.

I'm going to brainstorm tomorrow. Defiantly going to get a 5lbs slide for it as that little 2.5 felt like a joke. I do have an attachment similar to the one you showed, I'll try that. I swear this truck is going to force me to start drinking.

No, wife made me get in the cart and then she drug me to that section. My arthritis was bothering me, I had my cane but she insisted, and you can't argue with your wife. I got a slide hammer from HB today but wasn't having any luck with it. Where did you get that one, that attachment looks...

Time isn't a luxury on this unfortunately. I'm going to take a break tomorrow and regroup. The other issue is I have to figure out how to put the front axle shaft back together. I wasn't prepared for it to fall apart when I set it down in the wagon.

'70 So I'm at my breaking point. Got a piece of stock just the size of the seal, put a strap around it, fished it inside and hooked the other end of the strap to the 4-wheeler. Tugged the winch in and all I did was drag a 800 pound 4wheeler. Tried yanking on it and all I did was rock the truck...

    Show Off Your Bed Crane

I want to get this for changing tire easier. http://www.spitzlift.com/ They have a mount that you can bolt anywhere and can move the crane around. Pretty nifty I think. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7kFkUZVNG60

Well I tried that and it was a no go at this station. This happened though. I love this truck but it seems like somewhere something is giving me a sign to stay away.

Well let me ask this. Is the washer holding the seal in or is the seal pressed in also. From the figure it looks like the seal is held in by the washer.

No only one side, not enough jack stands to do both together.
