cover is vinyl , the M880 series set up is very simular.
the going price for seats & bows will vary depending on condition
shipping can get pricey to
a cargo cover, you should be able to get for under $150
Sorry no pic.
I am not sure if the AF had the M880 series trucks.
The M880 series were tactical trucks, (barely)
They did have plenty of Dodges of that era though, mostly 4 door.
Most AF trucks that stayed on base were painted Strata Blue
I have never seen a M880 series truck that wasn't green...
Welcome to the forum! Not many out there for the M880 series trucks.
These trucks operate on 12v, single battery on drivers side 12v alternator on passenger side, if I recall correctly Dodges won't run without a battery
The M885's didn't come with 24v but if it did
the 24 v is only for the radio...
RE: Need some help finding a part for a
Hmmmm.........
I just looked at 3 parts trucks here, and they are not like the picture.
edit
ok I looked at the TM
The part that you have circled is for a 76 "before 8-15-76"
view "A" is what mine have.
This M927A2 ( I think ) (edit: it is a M928A2) is parked next to a M36A2 that I'm bi ding on
I was told that it isn't going up for auction, probably a good thing as I could see myself going deep in debt for that thing :cookoo:
Oh and what does PFO on the bumper stand for?
77 2wd drive has a std rotation steering box.
Also the length of the steering box on my 79w200 is longer than the 77's and the steering column shaft is shorter on the 79 to match the longer box.
I am going to look into this farther as the power unit on my 77 has some play in it and the issue of...
The fender emblem looks 79 80 to me , 79's had the turn signals in the valance.
also the 77 M880 is a reverse rotation steering box, sits on shelf off the frame, in 78 the shelf is gone and it is std rotaton I believe, I'd be interested in seeing how an 82 steering box could work.
groundog
Shhh were not supposed to talk about auctions
although that looks to be a good candidate for my 4dr std bed deuce idea !
area52
thanks for the info on both trucks!
country
Thanks for the pic of the 814 & info on your site.
I've been wanting a M36A2 (Long Bed deuce) to use among other things as a car/truck hauler.
Well not much luck finding these, especially with a winch.
How long is the M54's bed?
are there any 5 tons with a 16 foot or longer bed?
Hmmmm.....
In my experience with a tow bar on things bigger & heavier than a jeep, it is rare that the towed vehicle wheels turn to full lock when being dragged around a corner.
The tires would likely rub on the rear of the inner fenderwells when turning,
the radial hmmwv tires have less...
Ventured out with tape measure,
distance between tow hook mount holes is only 15 inch so I'll guess that the adaper plate in the above pic is mounted wrong and the brackets would be on the outside of the tow hooks.
Distance between the angle iron brackets, measured at hole is 25"
These brackets...
While I haven't had any experience with said adapters and the military tow bar on these trucks. I did stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night (JK).
Seriously, after looking at the above pics of the adapters and plates, I stuck my head under the front of one of my trucks.
It appears to me that...
The CUCV pintle has a fillet radius between the shank diameter and flange, making it stronger than the M880 version which has a sharp(er) corner.
While the M880 one will fit the CUCV's, a spacer with the radius in it is required to use the CUCV one on the M880
Made it home again.
Fun was had, ( there were a few breakdowns, not mine)
Didn't take many pics,
m52a2 (Ed) had my back part of the way, didn't think to ask him about his brakes though.
only about 580 of those miles went on the trailer
Drove 420 miles to get it from SS member Ranchhopper, Left home at 01:20
Got back home @ 22:10
Picked it up and went to my car club get together then home
My little Cherokee wasn't real happy about the work out but did ok.
Trailer did tow...
