if you take the bolts off the front hub it "should" come off. There is a Gasket that may be cooked on. Use a little common sense and take it off. There is nothing else holding it on. When you take out a rear axle and install a front hub plate is you are disconnecting power to that axle.
what are you going to do with it? drive it to high school? You sure do ask a lot of questions .. hummer for 10K? sounds like some sort of "group" to me. .....
I do not use a feeler gauge, I just adjust them to feel with the tires on and the axle jacked up. When ever I have the rims off I do check the thickness of the shoes by removing the little tin cover.
I bet it is NOT 24V. A good 24V pump will run in the $100 range. They can be found at
Fuel Pump, 302 for 120 bucks.
Ebay from 19.99 - 150
Ect.. google it
HOLD ON there guy, that is how you adjust the PARKING brake action NOT the service brakes!! you need to adjust the "star" adjuster before you set the parking brake action.
you DO NOT back it off 30 clicks! man that you would be where you started at. just adjust it till you hear light...
yup. I would rear the TM to figure out all the adjustments that are made to the braking system. I WOULD for sure take a look at the shoes also. If you take the rims off there is a little "tab" bolted to the brake drum. Take that off and you can inspect the brake linings.
Nope. They only adjust when you use the parking brake. And even that really does not work well. You need to adjust them manually. Did you remove the drums and look at how the rear shoes were doing? I bet not. I think it is time for a full brake inspection and make sure things are working as they...
you will need the turbo and exhaust manifold off a Civy 6.5 turbo. The 6.5 center mount turbo will not work in a cucv as you stated. the best thing to do is just swap a 6.5 turbo on to your 6.2 and bump the fuel just a tad. you will be very close to the power of a 6.5
It looks like a great idea all the filters and such. I have ran just about everything you can think ok in my Deuce and the only trouble i had was I had to change the fuel filters every 5k miles or so. Really I would think a spin on before the stock set up would work out fine. But it sure does...
well check the lines and take the drums off to double check. A big problem with the 80's GMC are the brake valves on the frame under the engine leaking and or sucking air. The seals are getting old and the fail rate is high on them.
