    3..2..1..Eureka!

Kenny, I know you would have done the same. Been there, done that kind of thing. :-) Well it took us several hours to wrestle that transmission in place, but it's done. This morning the deuce is loaded and again ready for the road, couldn't fit the bulky troop seats/bed sides and bows on top of...

The amazing Leonard! So you break down and need a part, we get the part number for a hard to get engine oil seal (I thought on Labor Day). He finds the biggest NAPA store I have ever seen, must have occupied a football field and they have it in stock!! Next, with his expert skills, we get the...

Okay, so we got the transmission out this afternoon and should be able to finish the job tomorrow. BTW, the seal we found at NAPA was the 49929 and it sold for about $44. It's great to have Jones to supervise the work and help with the tricky stuff. :-)

Project Baby Hemmt - FOR LEONARD

RE: more baby HEMTT pics Jason, I'm running 1600X20s on the baby HEMTT and getting them on a duel rear axle setup would require more than the stock 48" between the two rears. These tires are 53" in diameter so anything closer than say 55" would pretty much assure constant tire to tire contact...

    3..2..1..Eureka!

We found the seal (49927) at a local NAPA believe it or not, so we are ready to take the transmission out for starters. I'll report our progress. Thanks Kenny and devilman for providing part numbers!

    3..2..1..Eureka!

Thanks, we'll try to get a new seal tomorrow or at least by Tuesday. The crankcase filter was bypassed this morning since I didn't have a replacement filter element. My thoughts went along the lines of yours, Jeff, but didn't solve the oil drain problem. A couple of things I have learned during...

    3..2..1..Eureka!

Arrived at Leonard's place a couple of hours ago. Today's driving was delayed by the oil leak issue, the drain from the bellhousing vent is not getting better and I stopped every 20-30 miles or so to add oil. Coming down into California I stopped at the rest areas and ended up taking hydraulic...

    Multifuel valve clatter

All that veggie oil may have left a mark. :-)

    Multifuel valve clatter

Looked at #4, #5 and #6, all pretty fouled, #6 may have been clogged, so it was replaced. The clank clank sound is a little softer, which may indicate that fouled/clogged injectors may be causing the noise. I'll drive the truck the way it is now, perhaps higher rpms and a hotter engine will help...

Spoke with mangus, will swap injector #6 right away. Later,

    Multifuel valve clatter

My engine has developed a clank, clank sound which seems to be related to one cylinder only. It's fairly loud at idle and goes away completely at higher rpm's. I have heard this before and it has gone away on its own, but is now back. The same sound/noise was present while I worked on the log...

    3..2..1..Eureka!

Thanks for your continued support! Helped Mike lift a trailer among other things and managed to burst a hydraulic line on the crane. Small town and an "auto parts" store within walking distance fixed the problem. The line and another fitting will have to be replaced at a later date. Later in...

    3..2..1..Eureka!

Finally delivered that heavy laundry trailer to Mike Popovitch here in Nevada. Counted down the miles before arriving here in Eureka. The long up-mountain drives began to get to me (and the deuce), 20-25 mph in 3rd gear for ten minutes at a time over and over again. I-80 only looks level on the...

    Cranetruck needs some help

I'll be starting out on I-80 West in a little bit. Kind of cool here near Cheyenne, Wyoming (ele 6,000 Ft), about 55°F... Deuce is running great again, but there are some leaks that will need to be worked on, a small oil drip from the bell housing, an air leak below the dash that comes and...

    Cranetruck needs some help

The screws were too tight, found the problem as Greg pulled up. Great moral support! THANKS Greg!! Left the screws w/o the safety wire, will check on it in the morning to make sure the spacing is just right. The gasket is in place. Thanks Jason for posting my request for support. Deuce runs just...

    Cranetruck needs some help

Jason, not yet, let me get some feedback from David, if he can ship the part(s). I'll have them tomorrow. I'll let you know... Cabell, sorry for the interruption of our conversation, had to put the phone on the charger. You don't have to apologize for a shipping error that you have no control...

    Cranetruck needs some help

Hi all, my tracfone has been feed more time and should be working now. Number is 276 952-8704. Jason, bless him, left several spare injectors, so when the head arrives, I should be in business. Hopefully UPS will deliver today.
