I dont think that the crossmember for the 700r4 is the same, but i'm sure that you could make it work. A few of the guys have put 700r4's into there trucks and would be better able to answer your question. The one off of the burban should fit perfectly, since its the same frame for the most part.
I'm not sure which model it is, your best bet would be the alt. shop. I cant seem to find any pics online showing the differences between the two cases.
While the starter is 24v all of the electrics on the truck are 12v, there are both 24v and 12v ignition switched fuse spots in the panel, so use your multimeter.
I would just go down to a alternator rebuild shop, they will have those parts in stock for you.
If they dont, let me know and I'll get them from the local shop and mail 'em to ya.
you can use fuel rated hose for that part of the system, its only under 7psi or so. I've done the pump on my truck twice, and its a pita no matter what you do. i had to replace the new one that i had put in around 6mo. later due to fuel spraying from the area where the two halves of the pump...
well worst case is that you chew up the bearing and end up with metal shavings throughout the axle. I would try to get some grease in the bearing, but its your axle and your money.
RE: Re: RE: Electrical failure
if you look at the TM for the truck it has full wiring schematics. the wires are even the same as on the renderings, so you can find them in the harness with ease.
I've had 5000lbs in tha back of the m1008 and not had the suspension bottomed out. the truck didnt behave bad, although the truck sat around half an inch lower in the rear than the front. This was before the lift was installed and i had load range "E" tires on it
FT, i havent read about that, do you remember the source, the only thing i have read again and again is UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCE ARE YOU TO SPLICE THE WIRES
The flag should not be draped over the hood, top, sides, or back of a vehicle or of a railroad train or boat. When the flag is displayed on a motorcar, the staff shall be fixed firmly to the chassis or clamped to the right fender.
you should be fine just flushing with dot5, just run a quart through the lines and you will be fine. I reccomend purchasing a warning sticker for the master cylinder cap, you can find ones on ebay that say to add only silicone brake fluid. I got one at the aberdeen show for $1
