We had a big pile of new AL tubing stolen. My uncle happened to pull into the lot while the theft was in progress. They got away but he was able to get the tag number (He chased them but they finally lost him). They arrested the lowlife, got back our AL, but the judge didn't do anything when it...
We have two local scrap yards around here. The one I use copies you DL, takes a pic of your tags, takes a pic of your load, and only pays by check. The other one you just unload your scrap and get paid cash. You can guess which one the thieves use. They passed a bunch of laws in TN to try and...
I like that idea. I'm running a civilain 12v ignition on my M715 via the 24v/12v converter. I've had a couple of problems with my converter and associated wiring that left my truck dead in the water. Running ignition through the converter just makes things more complicated than it needs to be...

If you find somebody that's got a truck sitting in the weeds and are not very familiar with MVs you can sometimes get a heck of a deal on a winch. If you find people that know what winch setups are worth (like people around here) they can be had for around 1K. If you happen to talk to...
Mobileauto, the gauge panel looks great. Personally, I wouldn't want my pyro mounted there though. Mine is mounted on the steering column so I won't have to shift my eyes much from the road to see it. When you've got the fuel turned up close to redline and in a hard pull you need to watch the...
You are correct that the tabs go in the groove on the shift clutch. Easiest way I've found to put it together is to put the sliding clutch dog on the shaft and then work the end cover on while sliding the fork into the grove. After it's together shift it to make sure everything is lined up.
The only systems I've seen on tractors and combines are hydrostatic steering. These systems are not designed for high speed and you will loose control at highway speeds. Unless you're only going to use the vehicle off-road, I wouldn't use one of these.
You can get hydrostatic systems that will...

I've seen too many broken winch gearcases and PTOs ripped off the side of the trans using a bolt as a shear pin. If you want to use a bolt and take the risk, go ahead and use it but don't post that it's a good idea.
I'm unsure if the part that goes on the drag link could be converted to hyd. My gut feeling says no but I could be wrong. Most air operated valves are nothing like hyd valves and they exhaust to the outside ( that would cause a big hyd leak).
Replacing the cylinder with a hyd cylinder should...
This will work but I can't stress enough to make sure you hook the cables up correctly. This can end very badly ( I've had a battery blow up in my face and it's no fun) if you don't hook it up exactly as it has been described in this thread. If you read through the post and look at the drawings...

Also, what does this have to do with the original subject? Even if this was allowed I doubt you'd get much exposure by posting this in a GL auction thread.
Here's my take on it. Alot of civilain vehicle people don't like them because they aren't a civilain vehicle. Alot of MV people don't like them because they're really not a tactical MV either. They are kind of an orphan.
The 6.2 is kind of weak out on road but so are most other MVs (they will...
I had an old converted gasser that had the old style fenders. The fender will work on a multifuel. It does make it a little more cramped in the engine compartment and if you decide to replace the right fender also (so they will match) you will have to cut it for the exhaust.
According to David Doyle's article, your truck is a 1967. Post in Carnac's thread and see what he comes up with.
I wish we could have David's article "Deciphering the codes" posted on the site. It's the best article I've found for reading the VIN and what it tells you. Only way it could happen...
As I said above, you can jump your deuce with your 12v Toyota. Hook it up just like the diagram I posted earlier in the thread.
This is not the best for the CUCV or the deuce but it will work most of the time if that's all you've got. It won't work if both your batteries are completely shot...
You can jump a deuce with 12v the same way you jump a CUCV with 12v. As long as you hook up the 12v source to an individual battery you'll be ok ("+" to "+" and "-" to "-" on each battery). In effect, all you're doing is replacing one of the deuce 12v batteries with the 12v jump vehicle.
I've...
Here's how to hook it up. You can hook it up either of these two ways. First hook it up to one battery and if it doesn't seem like that helps, switch to the other one. Just make sure you hook positive (+) to positive (+) and negative (-) to negative (-) with each battery.
WM is right in regard...
After you win the auction, they will send you a email that will have a link to the EUC form. You can open the EUC form also from your account page but as said above, you can't fill out a EUC until you've actually won an auction.
I've seen a 45,000lb wrecker rear winch spin backwards under load. We've got one mounted on the back of our KW to operate the neck on our M870. When you've got about 40,000lb on the trailer and try and raise the neck, if you stop before the neck gets up onto the truck, the winch will backspin...
