Anyone here taken a junker...I mean a REAL junker, rust holes, parts missing or falling off, complete scrap heap...and did and complete restoration of it? Looking for before and after pics of your junker to jewel conversion....

Just had a thought. Square holes are perfect for carriage bolts. Perhaps the holes are there to bolt in a shelter, perhaps?

Does the manual say anything about them? Was their a variant of the M105 trailer designed to carry a certain systems package or something that might have had these holes cut out of them?

IIRC, the M715 series, the M880 series and CUCV series were "interim" fields until a suitable replacement for the M37 and M151 were found, at least that is one opinion I have heard before in print. The HMMWV was supposed to replace most of them, except in a non-tactical role where the CUCV...
