max HP out of a 465 multi fuel?

Seems alot of people think if you turn up the fuel their truck will go faster. Your truck will not go any faster by turning up the fuel. Only way to get more speed is to change the gearing or mess with the governor (not recommended). Turning up the fuel will help when pulling hills especially...

max HP out of a 465 multi fuel?

I have no idea what the max HP would be because to my knowledge nobody has ever put one on a dyno. Atleast they haven't posted it if they have. You'll burn one up quicker than anything. Best thing to do is install a pyro and just don't go too much.

    My head's spinning

I have no first hand knowlege of the fuel filter spin-on kits. I will say that jatonka's spin-on oil filter kits are top notch. They are very well made and would recommend them to anybody. The truck that threw a rod did have jatonka's oil filter conversion on it (I think) but I'd say with...

    looking for m35 bumper extentions

I've got a spare set but I think I'll hold on to them. Extentions are hard to find all by themself.

    Replacement winch cable

Wow. I had no idea they could get that kind of strength out of synthetics.

Deuce Buy - Govt Auction vs. Ebay - Tell Me Your Experience or Opinion - Pro and Con

Pay no attention to the condition codes or what it says in the description as to if it runs. These have been known to be wrong in many cases. Unless you are prepared to except less than what is advertised do not even think about bidding on a truck without inspecting it first.

    Air compressor

You'll need an air compressor wrench. You adjust the pulley to tighten the belt. http://www.steelsoldiers.com/deuce/31985-compressor-wrench-size.html?highlight=air+compressor+wrench

    Flushing Hydraulics

Sounds like a good plan ;-).

    Air compressor

Could be water frozen in the system and all it needs is thawing out. At those temps moisture in the air system can cause alot of problems.

What causes this brake system failure...?

OK, I wasn't thinking about the valve . I was thinking of just the air piston stuck.

    Replacement winch cable

:ditto: I'm not saying they don't make it but in my line of work it's my job to know what any given size cable is rated for and I have yet to see any 1/2" wire rope that had a lifting WLL as high as 10,000lbs. I would be interested in buying a bunch of it if it can be had .

What causes this brake system failure...?

Ok, I'm not saying either one of you are wrong. I'm just trying to figure this out better . If the air piston is frozen it would be the same as no air in the system, right? I say this because I don't think the piston moves when you apply the brakes with no air in the system either and...

    Flushing Hydraulics

About the only way to completely clean a hyd cylinder is to disassemble it. They are very hard to completely clean through the ports. As long as it looks as if none of the crud entered the cylinder I wouldn't worry about it.

    Flushing Hydraulics

Gas will not hurt hyd lines for just flushing them. There are no seals in hyd lines to worry about either. Trans fluid will be ok also but IMO gas is a much better solvent. Any gas left in the lines will evaporate in short order so you won't have to worry about contamination . To each...

What causes this brake system failure...?

Does anybody think this could be remotely possible? When I posted this earlier it just kind of came to me as I was typing. If water collects in low spots in the system using DOT5 like they say I think this could be a real possibility in freezing temps.

Anyone with cargo on Arrow Truck Lines?

:ditto: I take the truck as far as it would get me. Might even sell the tires, chains, or something off of the trailer for fuel money to get home. If you did have a load on one of their trucks you're more than likely screwed. When the trucks and trailers get abandoned they will more than...

    Flushing Hydraulics

Take the hoses off and first blow some compressed air through them. Then run some gas through them to get out what's left. More than likely the grime didn't make it past the hoses and into the cylinder and or pump. Just check the other ends of the hoses once you get them off to make sure it's...

What causes this brake system failure...?

Was it below freezing when this happened? From the amount of water you said came out of the tank I'm going to say you have some ice in your air system. You could even have ice in your hyd system. DOT5 dosen't absorb water and water can collect in a low spot in the system if there is moisture...

    Replacement winch cable

Yes, but the WLL will be around 5,000lbs. What I was trying to say is that most of the wire rope you find and look at the ratings you will see that the WLL will only be around 5,000lbs for the strongest you can find in 1/2". A WLL of 4,000 to 5,000lbs will be fine for use on a deuce winch...

To Winch or Not to Winch a No-Winch M35A2? Opinions

A winch on a smaller pickup is not really needed but IMO something as big as a deuce needs one because if it does get stuck you're going to need a way to get it out. Even a large tractor can have trouble pulling out a deuce that's stuck good and the tractor is on soft ground also.
