I'm in the process to try and figure out a way to get all the dump info on this site put in one place so people will have ideas how to do it. There's quite a bit of info but it's scattered all over the place. Here's a thread I started...
Gimpy, that's a good idea but I was kind of wanting weed out the post in the thread that have people just asking questions and the general BS that all threads have. I want to just list the info from the people that have accually done it and have pics to show how they did it.
I'm sure there...
I got this idea from trying to post some info in a thread about deuce dump conversions. While trying to search for info I found that there are alot of good post about dump conversions but they are scatered all over the place. I would like to compile all of this data in one place where it could...
A good tuned tornado will pull pretty well as far as MVs go. When I first got my M715 it had no power at all. Turns out the timing was way off. Seems the tornado will run well with the timing way off but will not have any power.
Even though the bumperette is pretty strong I don't think it will be strong enough to hold the back of the bed. Most of the time the frame is notched because of the way the hinge is made. The notch allows for a piece of angle to be welded in which holds the lower part of the hinge. It also...
That's odd. I've got a converter in my M715 and haven't had a problem gounding directly to the frame. I'm even running a civilain 12v distributor through it that grounds through the body without problems.
Gimpy was talking about this a little while back. I think the spare will fit in the stock location with some modification to the mount. I personally wouldn't want a spare that large hanging on my front bumper.
I've got an old style handle I'd part with but I have no idea if it will work for what you're wanting to do. The only Micro lock I've ever seen was a line lock.
I do often wonder how long it will take for the "powers that be" to realize that the same vehicles they are trying to get off the road (remember "cash for clunkers") they are selling to the general public to put on the road.
I guess I should have been a little clearer on my post. I didn't literally mean that they took a gear out of the trans and throwed it away. What I was meaning is it is like you skip a gear between 3rd and 4th. You could be right on the ratios but I can tell from driving both there is too big of...
IMO that would be the best overall setup for the money.
I know my truck could stand to be turned up a little but the 3rd to 4th jump really kills me when I'm loaded on a big hill.
:ditto:
When they converted the 3052 into the 3053 they left a gear out between 3rd and 4th. It's like you are skipping a gear. That's the reason for the wierd shift pattern.
