well thats still not saying how coolant got in to the cylinders to make all that smoke and noise.... you could have a cracked head. ok.. first thing I would do at this point is look at the valves and adjust the lash.. that could be some or all of your noise. the rockers could be "clacking" till...
thats not good ether, could be a plugged up oil passage. its time to dig deep in that engine. I would start by removing the heads and looking around. check the gaskets and go from there. is there any oil in the coolant or coolant in the oil?
yeah a gasket is toast. Could be time for a new engine if the sounds come after it warms up a bit. what is your oil gauge saying? if it drops below 20 ish when warm that stating some sort of bearing problem.
RE: 14/20
well there asking for it! the tire looks like a balloon with 12.5 x 20 xl's on it and there just a little wider then a 11:00 NDT. And I would like to see some fool stick a 14:00 on a deuce rim and head across country like I have done many times, and see how long that tire lasts. the...
RE: dangerous truck
man even 10k in the back of a M35 type is nothing. I have seen many posts here on SS where there was a FULL load of mulch, sand, gravel ect... If you drive with your head on, take it ez, you will be FINE!
RE: Break Line (Rubber Hose) Part number for Autozone or Nap
try www.odiron.com or I have got a set from www.saturnsurplus.com. I dont think there are any civy lines that will work. And for the 12 bucks or whatever you might as well get the correct military part.
I would not pull them apart for just the sake to look at them. First you would know what to look for, second why risk the chance of getting dirt, paint ect in there. We know how muck paint and crap are on the trucks. I would just change the fluids and if one looks all messed up I would keep a...
RE: duece parts on a 5 ton
the generators will swap over, just one has a out side fan and the other inside fan. the starter.. I think so you may have to re clock it.
sprag works ok if working, just NEVER let the truck roll in gear with the clutch disengaged in the opposite direction of gear selected. thats about it... air shift.. almost always works, never fails, and is controlled by the driver.
its a good chance its a whistler turbo. the D turbo is a lot larger and would be ezer to pick out. From the pics you really cant tell for sure, but good chance is the one you want.
I have a S169 on my gen trailer. I dont have any pics due to me being in the army and far away from home. but there is lots of room on the ends to store stuff and the cover fits over the top of everything to keep the weather out.
