I've torn down a couple of winches lately. The keys all came out fairly easy.
Your shaft and gear should slide out. Sometimes the shaft will be rusty and cause problems but yours looks nice and clean. Give the end of the shaft a couple of taps with a rubber hammer or a regular hammer with a...
I'd say there is at least a 75% chance it has a bent driveshaft. Last time I was at Redstone they must have had 50 CUCVs. I looked at every one of them and they all had a bent driveshaft.
I don't think I've ever seen a portable bandsaw with a big enough throat to cut a deuce frame. Could be one but I've never seen it .
Jeff, We've added frame in the middle on several civilain trucks at our shop. We have always cut with a torch or plasma, welded the extra frame in, and...
They can be stuck pretty good. I've had luck using a chisel and hammer to get them out. If it's stuck real good you can dig into them with the chisel pretty good but they are still reuseable most of the time. If all else fails you can try and put some heat on the shaft to break it loose.
If you ever think you want one you better jump on it. I doubt you'll ever find another one in that kind of shape for that price.
If you weren't 2,000 miles away I'd buy the whole lot SF97s or not.
Those tractors can produce huge HP for short periods of time. Hook them to a plow in the field and you'd be lucky to get one round out of them. They are only built to run about 300' and cool down. Some don't even run coolant. They blow up a lot of engines also.
I know a guy that has a Dodge...
:ditto:
I'd rather be hit by the tire/wheel than I had the ring but either one is going to do damage. I saw a guy airing a 24.5 tubeless when the sidwall blew. It blew on the back side but sent the tire and wheel right at him. He escaped with only a black eye and a sore arm but it could have...
Ok. Maybe I do have dropside seats. They came off a standard cargo bed but they do have the pin holes in the stakes and I do have the brace bracket. I know for a fact my headboard is from a standard cargo. I've got two more sets of seats but haven't looked at them that close.
The troop seat stakes that I have came off a standard cargo. They already had the hole in them for the pin. I just assumed they all had the hole but maybe not.
The headboard is them main difference. I have M35A2 troop seats on my M35A2C. It's a pain to drop the sides with the standard seats. You have to lift the headboard to disconect it from the sides.
I've heard alot of people adding ATF to diesel. I don't know if it helps or not but I will offer a word of caution. I was told this by a TN State Trooper. When you add ATF to diesel it turns it red. Dyed (off-road/ non-taxed) diesel is dyed red. The Trooper goes around checking trucks for dyed...
I've thought about your post and I have to agree. People need a place to "vent" about OT stuff. The people that don't like to read that sort of stuff can just skip over it. Seems like a better way than people posting OT post in the regular forums (which happens from time to time) and people...
I would also like to see the member map updated.
The TMs need to be orgainized.
I also think it would help if the mods were just over a certain forum and not the whole site. Most websites are like this. That way when a problem arises you know who to go to in a given forum.
I'm also willing...
I wouldn't attempt flat towing a truck without a towbar unless is was just at slow speed off road. I have done it but it was back when I was young and dumb .
Clinto, There are more listed in this thread http://www.steelsoldiers.com/forum-news/30303-must-read-steelsoldiers-com-changes.html . Cranetruck and Maccus.
Are they no longer mods?
