You're going to have to at least get it off base to pull the head off.

That depends.
Most 7 ton trailers are rated for 7 tons gross weight. That means the weight of the load and the trailer can't go over 7 tons. Most gooseneck 7 ton trailers weigh about 4,000lbs so you can only haul 10,000lbs or 5 tons. There are some bumper hitch 7 ton lowbed trailers and I...
That's not a load of firewood. There's a pic I saw on here somewhere that had wood piled up above the troop seats :-D.
Seriously, Looks like a nice load. More than I'd want to cut as hot as it is but It sounds like you cheated a little bit .
I'm calling them "off road only" just to cover my butt. Use them however you like :-D.
The pintle loop is made of 3/4" steel with two 3/8" reinforcement rings welded around the hole to give a total of 1 1/2" of meat. The first one I made the pintle is only made out of 5/8" plate. I've...
This project had been on hold because of other projects but I finally got time to fab up another towbar. I'm going to post this one up in the classifieds for sale.
You can find them pretty easy if you don't mind paying for them . If you're searching for bargains they can be very scarce.
You're about to jump into a very expensive project. I know your dead set on a project truck but it really is cheaper to buy one whole .
I would call it a club. It's informal but I do feel I'm part of something being here :-D.
As far as the useless threads go, If you think they are useless just skip over them. Seems to me that sometimes I come here that there won't be many threads that interest me but that doesn't mean somebody...
I've had it for years and I'm not 100% sure it came from NAPA but I'm pretty sure. Here's a pic I found on the web that's just like the one I have.
Compression Test
Should be no problem if you're a good welder. I've stretched many frames on civilian trucks. Just cut the frame and add what you need. You need to double frame over the joints to add strength. Other than that all you have to do is lengthen driveshaft, air lines, and wiring.
I've got one that may work. It's a tester with a tapered rubber boot on the end. You have to really hold it good to make a good seal over the injector hole but I haven't found a diesel engine it wouldn't work on yet. Just haven't tried it on a multifuel. You are welcome to borrow it but I belive...
I've seen several different pics trying to show different shades but the bottom line is you really can't tell much about paint match from pics. The lighting and picture quality has a lot to do with the finish you see in a pic. If you are concerned about a match I'd just get a can from...
It's really no more dangerous than industrial coatings. The main reason I don't llike it is it's exspensive and is hard to spray. Gillispie paint is really hard to beat for the price. It holds up well also. I keep a few cans of 383 for touch up and it matches CARC fairly well.
I'm pretty much with you on this. There are two distinct thoughts around here. One is the "leave it stock crowd". The other is the "mod the heck out of it" crowd. I like to see them both and I fit somewhere in between myself. I want my truck to "look" stock but upgrade to a dump.
Adding...
I'm a free speech kind of guy myself. You may be wanting to put something on there that would make me mad as heck but it's your truck (that you paid for) so put on there whatever you want .
Well my Dodge pickup will not fit through a 8' gate. I'd measure it to make sure it's only 8'. My basement door is 9' wide and I only have about 3" to spare on each side with the mirrors. A deuce is right at 8' if you don't count the mirrors. If the gate is lower than the mirrors then anything...
:ditto:
They can be stuck pretty good.
If you have removed the dog side and the drum the gear and shaft should slide right out. There is really no reason to remove the gear from the shaft unless you are replacing one or the other.
My M35A2C came from GL without a relay. I've been told by some very knowledgeable people on this site that it will burn up my starter button without the relay. I've got a relay but have been lazy and haven't installed it yet. So far everything is holding together but my engine is a fast starter...
Kenny, It should still work if the lowboy has a floor over the axles. I've hauled two on our detach lowboy. You just have to run one on the back over the axles. You could do that with the m35a2.
