There is good air pressure on tap under dash, see post three. Hook a gauge to that. Always in sight. Watch what the brakes do to the air pressure. Also quality check on air pressure governor.

A comment for consideration. Install a known good calibrated gauge off of the in-cab under-dash port Before you go messing with things. The in-the-dash air pressure gauge is about as accurate as the fuel gauge.
