Why don't you ask the contact you have with a rebuilder? Surely they could answer this question(residual valve). Do they rebuild both long and short?

If it is the plastic line leaking, usually tighten it only make it leak worse. It will require replacement and use of a tube insert. DOT air line works well as replacement fuel line. This has been covered many times.

Why would you assume dot 3? I would test what is in it and match it, unless you have a personal preference. Then I would use what you like(which may require a complete flush/clean, depending on what you find is in it now).

If your not cranking fast enough, you won't get the right fuel output either. If you can only get 45 seconds of crank time before batteries are dead, I think you have a starter or battery issue.

You can tell with a light that it has resistance. You can not tell how much with a light. It needs to be within spec. That requires a meter.

You need to unplug each glow plug to test it. Do not use a light, use an ohm meter and look for 1-3 ohm. This is clearly spelled out in the -20TM, under troubleshooting.

With more than one truck, I always start the easiest starting truck first, then slave the other one. It helps alot. Especially with an NHC-250.

You may be loosing fuel prime.

Have you cleaned the filters in the bottom of the pumps? If they are plugged, the pumps will make no noise(not pump) because they are holding the pressure.

I don't recall any members ever posting that they have installed C/C.
