    Died w/decreasing idle

Wet stack is probably an issue but probably not what caused this. My guess says clogged fuel filters and life in your fuel system...

    Cold morning startup question

Speaking of diesel engines in general, those with an aux heating mechanism as a cold weather start aid can be cycled multiple times to facilitate easier starting. When it's below 0*F, I cycle the plenum heater in my pickup twice before attempting starting, as a matter of course. On the...

Tire question about M105 tires and M35A2

11.00R20 will fit on the same wheels, but they sometimes rub the trunion cap bolts. If I'm swapping tires on a deuce, I'm going to 395s on MRAP rims with adapter plates(pictured).

Tire question about M105 tires and M35A2

Presuming your deuce is still on 9.00s and that your trailer is an M105A2 , the answer is yes.

    eHMMVW

It's been done (or something similar) with a 6 figure pricetag.

16.00R20 Michelin tire shake at about 40 mph:

I suspect it may be just harmonics/resonance. I've got a truck that'll almost throw you out of the seat at 28mph, but is smooth until 25mph, and smooths out again at 32mph and remains smooth up to cruising speed of 60ish. Also on 16.00s. (By "smooth", I mean as smooth as one can expect from...

Agreed on all counts. That being said, a larger solar charger would allow to recharge with neither a plug nor a jug... And if you're going to drag around a diesel generator to charge your electric vehicle, why not skip the intermediate steps and just leave the diesel engine in the truck? I'm...

Isuzu powered Drash 5 pin connectors

That's the correct cable, and not a bad price really. You can't buy the components for that. If I didn't already have one, I'd be buying it.

Isuzu powered Drash 5 pin connectors

This us the parallel cable. Different pins, much smaller. Will not work for the 60amp J1 port.

How many diesel pumps are in your woods?

Isuzu powered Drash 5 pin connectors

They aren't specific to the Isuzu version. What they are is a 60amp 3phase plug, used in several different applications. They are hideously expensive. I have the part numbers somewhere (New phone, lost a bunch of stuff), and I'll post them if I can find them again.

    Sherpa winch took a dump

Thats the 2nd one I've heard of failing.

    Allison MT654CR

Transfer case in low and transmission in reverse has a high probability of splitting the TC. It is explicitly warned against. Sorry I dont have the actual information you're looking for.

    Many M816 Questions

Unlike the original, the new one will burn your truck to the ground. I'd avoid it and find a 3 lever switch.

    6.5 diesel smoke

It's normal, unless it persists for more than a few minutes. I'm guessing that you are new to diesel equipment. They heat by compression, and how hot they get on immediate startup is a function of ambient temperature. Typically on startup they won't be warm enough to burn all the fuel. The...

    6.5 diesel smoke

Unburned fuel prior to things getting warm.

Moving from Portland Oregon to Waco Texas...

If you're going across I 40, there's @Mos68x in Seligman, AZ. I have a couple buddys with towbars in Socorro, NM, and I have 40 acres and an M818 near Holbrook AZ exit 286. I'll PM you my number. I'm nearly always reachable by text and if you run into trouble I can help you yell for help...

Moving from Portland Oregon to Waco Texas...

I would avoid California at all costs. But if you don't, I'll be in Palm Springs CA then.. I'll have general mechanics tools and appropriately gauged jumper cables with me, but no MV.

    Outdoor winter storage cover needed

$300 or so buys a really good tarp from a truck supply place. The same kind of thing used to tarp flatbeds and dumptrucks. Edwards Canvas in OK is where I've bought them from.
