I think it's on the brake pedal valve. Troubleshooting the brake lights is covered in, TM 9-2320-283-20-1.

I would try changing the brake switch. It sounds like it is simply sticking on.

If you own(or plan to own) a truck, you really should read the technical manuals. Towing as well as many many other very important things are all covered in the manuals. Start with the -10.

You can use standard ferrules. Try searching ferrules, fuel, insert, nut.

They did not match the rear width on many trucks. Not a big deal.
