The CUCV Electric info is right out of the TMs. Use the TMs for step by step instructions on how to diagnose the GPs. That list is the 289 series of Tms. The troublshooting section in the -20 is where you need to look. When I say -20, I mean the TM number ends with -20.

Which series of TM do you use? the 209 or 361?

It sound's like your glow plug temp sensor could be bad. There's a random(but logical) guess. I would rather diagnose the system in a methodical manor.

Does the fluid level ever get low in the master cylinder? Have you disassembled any of the brake system lately?

There is a very easy to follow(and thorough) troubleshooting guide in the -20 TM.

Why post in the trailer forum? It's a shelter that goes in the rear of a deuce. I think you'd be safer standing outside in the storm.

I don't know what your problem is(or if you even have a problem), you only said you wanted to change it, so I can't say if it's safe to drive that far.

Click on the picture I posted above. Notice the TM number. That is one of the 5 ton TMs.

There seems to be a separate/different picture for each variant of truck, so look them all over.

Did you look at the exploded views in the TMs?

The solenoid that has the terminal on the TOP of the cover, if the shut-off solenoid. The other one with the terminal on the side of the cover, is the timing advance solenoid. Installing the top properly is important. The correct TM for the IP is TM9-2815-237-34.
