This is a truck I had sandblasted down to bare steel and shot with milspec carc by H&H exotic coatings in Tulsa.
Bigdog looks just as good at a fraction of the cost, and the behr housepaint is probably more durable and less prone to flake than carc.
Oh,and I like the solid green look :)
The wheels and tires are worth $200-$400 at my assessment.
The dropside bed is worth $400-$600.
The truck in total looks to be about a $1500 parts truck as it sits rigjt there. With a clean title and a fully functional transmission I rate it $3000-$4400 depending on tje brakes and tje transfer.
I wouldn't touch a truck without a title. Have the seller provide a title as a condition of sale...
Either the seller got it at auction, and will be able to get a title with minimal fuss, or it has been transferred a few times without a title and will be more trouble that it's worth.
Without...
In the plus side, you're not too terribly far from Sparta, which has a tendency to have good trucks. For recovery, take a flatbed and go get it yourself. This gives you the opportunity to refuse it if there's been substantial changes in the 4 months between winning your auction and getting your...
Scrap value is way down. To the point that I've got a bunch of steel tje scrappers just don't want.
Using GP'S shipper may be convenient but is almost certainly the most expensive option.
If a truck is missing parts, likely it's a truly dead truck. Do you cannibalize a runner or an easy fix...
Thing is, fastenal isn't going to go to GL's OKC warehouse and pick up. Neither will many freight carriers.
OKC requires an online appointment to be made, usually weeks in advance, and without it (and sometimes even with it! - take a screenshot!!!) They will simply turn you away. Then they...
I've used them.
I've also competed with them, when I'm there anyway. I'm not a real commercial carrier, so I don't have his overhead. Unfortunately I don't get to MS or FL.
Jason (okc auction services) had the best rates I could find out of 5 or 6 quotes. I've used him on more than one...
I'm not sure 125 psi is enough. ... i think you want more space between the governor setting at 120ish, and the relief valve. 150psi strikes me as a good number.
However, tje 125 should be adequate.
Thanks for coming back and posting the outcome.
Yes, but it was working fine previously. ... I strongly suspect moisture (likely frozen) was the initial culprit.
Now he's thrown parts at it in a shotgun attempt to randomly hit the problem and made it worse by adding uncertainty as to what's going on.
No. That is not correct.
Compressor builds air and sends it downstream. PPV engages once it sees 70psi (or therebouts). Once the PPV engages , air is sent to the governor and everything else on that side of the system (horn, wipers , other 'nonessential' equipment ).
If the PPV doesn't see...
