I just noticed your spelling error in the title. That would be your issue with the search results, I bet! try it spelling it correctly (as I posted).
when in doubt, google the word, and see if it comes up with what you think it should
Ok, I just did exactly what I posted(in post#2) and I got 16 search results. Several threads titles were obviously what you want.
So, reread what I posted and do an advanced search(bottom left of the main page).
Look at the link posted above, in the second picture(starter circuit), above the word Suppressor, there is a red "thermo wire". Thats the fusible link that supplies the starter relay power. You probably blew that. It is under the hood, on the passenger side connected to the buss bar.
wrong...
It is a piece of history, but it's Your piece of history now. Do what you like with it. Your description above sounds like you have a great plan to convert it into what you want and need. Go for it.2cents
edit, and share pics and info with us as you go!
OK, I understand what you mean about the rubber now.
I say drive it 20' in a straight line, then stop and look again. I bet all will be normal.
Even if one axle is off to one side a bit(1-2"), that's common. A few times I have looked in my rear view mirror and noticed the off side tracking...
Make a set of short wires with 1/4" blade terminals on one end and ring terminals on the other end. That would work fine. Just adds a few extra contact points that could go bad later.
In the first pic, it looks like the front wheel is turned. If you stopped mid turn, I would expect the axles to look like they do in that pic. Some trucks, it's not as noticeable, others, more so.
I dont see what your referring to in the second pic(sorry).
I meant, with the axle jacked up as little as possible, thats all.
I know what you meanabout thinking you would have noticed it before. I hate it when something like this happens and makes you wonder what it is.
Not sure, I'm just thinking "out loud'.
Have you driven it some and parked it...
Not a must have, but a great idea!
Even a simple 6' long 3/8" length of steel brake line bent in a long loop would provide some additional cooling.
I think all diesels had the coolers in the radiators.
Personally, I would add something for additional cooling.(unless it was an on the...
Did you measure it before the recent work? Are you sure this is a new issue?
I would have installed and tightened the tapered dog bone ends, with the truck on the ground and level to eliminate any chance of unneeded strain on the new rubber ends.
