    You don't want to open the ground wire on the front battery during a starter run-on due to a failed(stuck on) under-dash starter relay. Bad things will still happen. Do the relay modification and you'll be all set.

    Data I found online says the MK17 trailer portion should weigh in at 11,700 lbs. I don't see why you should not be able to lift one end, back the trailer under it, then lift the other end up and on.

    One place both the steering and the brakes are "connected" is the power steering pump. it supplies the hydo boost and the steering gear box. I wonder how that could relate to your situation.

    You may not be shifting it correctly. Also, never roll with it in gear, in the opposite direction (of the gear your in). Read your manuals before you do very expensive and labor intensive damage.

    You should be able to do that with a large screwdriver in the top hole of the alt bracket, with one hand, and a wrench or ratchet in the other hand and tighten the top adjustment bolt. Then tighten the lower bolt last. Don't over tighten the belt or you will have premature belt failure or...

    I've been trying to get my local GL person to put my dog in the cab of a truck(or just in the picture) for a long time. Can't make it happen... They do have a competition for the best pictures for their ads.

    Not the same, only the mil trucks had 2 alternators. Look up the nsn in the -34P tm.
