I have done similar trail mods to get me back to my tools for a proper fix. If you are not far from home, run in low range and be extra careful, go for it.

SOunds like an adjustment issue to me. I usually do 15thou top and bottom. No reason to worry about it till you do them all. If you do them all and still don't get a good pedal, check adjustment of the brake pedal to master cyl. If not after that, its probably time to replace the rubber hoses in...
I've driven mine for days on end at 1200* on every type of fuel I could get my hands on. When I did head gaskets a year ago, there was no sign of melty metal, just some crap coked on the injectors. My pyro is before the turbo if anyone cares
How do you like the 5ton air filter? I've got a big filter to put on my fender too. What did you do under the hood (got pics?) I know the tubing from a 5ton doesn't work under the hood.
I understand what your saying. Mine wasn't a horrible freight version, it was mil-spec. If your happy with the specs and price, pull the trigger. I just think its too much for what you get, thats all.
