I guess there are two of us now that would like to know:
- Anybody got the skinny on the landing gear of the C-130 in ski mode?
- Is it JUST skis alone, and that's it?
No kidding; good eye you got there.
Didn't even notice them until you pointed it out. The skis are so wide (wider than I would have expected), that I would have figured them as just storage cribbing or something. Are there wheels built into the skis (for take-off and landings off the snow)?
Joining the chorus:
Congratulations M920 for a great win; your rig is BIG.
And also offering gratitude to all the candidates for their nominations. April was a great parade of MV excellence. It's always fun.
Thanks for all the input.
California is a LOT of territory; it's big state. I'm guessing there's variation north-to-south, but clearly there IS a water problem in the state.
Just a brief drift off the thread here:
- So, maybe the legislation is really just a pre-emptive strike before the problem is truly critical; that would make good sense.
From what you say DavidWymore the reservoirs aren't all yet at the right-hand-stage here, but still closer to the left-hand...
Reading here back East about the CA drought (and the legislated 25% reduction in use).
The maps make it look grim. But the news here never tells the whole story; not like you get when you talk to somebody who is there:
- How bad is it?
- Does it hit home as hard as it sounds?
I haven't built models in a long time (I mean decades), but that is a seriously detailed kit. Real nice.
I was thinking about the model making, and the architectural training I had, and realize that people that get all their learning form books are missing an element of education. Working with...
I studied architecture through college, and we always made a scale model of anything we designed on paper:
- It forces you to work out the idea thoroughly in your head.
It's not a bad idea at all.
It looked like there were a LOT of pieces to that model:
- Trying to gauge the quality of the kit (it looks like pretty fine quality with good detail)
Are the tires for the model made of actual rubber?
