I saw in the TM that there was supposedly a square cut out area under the boom (Main boom not extension) where you could get to the packing gland at the rear of the main boom cylinder. Our '67 truck doesn't have the cut out area....
Does anyone have this feature, and is it a MWO to cut one in...

We painted the Virginia War Museum's Prototype T-97 155mm SP Gun (1950?) this weekend.

Would anyone have a good ring clip (part number 01843-RG902 ) It's a small ring with three end clips that holds the button on the bottom of the Hydraulic Head. My Deuce stropped running, got her started ran home, she died again, and would not bleed fuel to the lines. We finally (6 Months later...
Ok, the donated M543A3 is about to earn it's keep working for the local War memorial museum. They have a Prototype 155 SPG based on the old M48 Chassis components, so I can assume it's pushing 50 Tons with turret and gun. Been sitting in the same place for the last 35 years since it 'rolled' in...
I have been tasked (as a Virginia Military Preservation Association member) with painting a Fort Eustis Transportation Museum's M35A2 to Vietnam era colors.
Before I begin, I was wondering if we should retrofit it with some earlier parts to represent early 70's or such. Here's a description...
A friend bought a Medium Towbar he was told for a Deuce.
It's non-adjustable and has what appears to be 2" holes where the end adapters would go, additionally, the ends are angled. (if the photo's attached)
Anyone know where he might locate a set of end adapters for a Deuce?:jumpin:
It's not...

Group has a M543A3 Wrecker, since returning from Afghanistan last week, I've got her running (Albiet on 5+ year old fuel) the brake master rebuilt today and the boom lift cylinder hose replaced.
I noticed a hiss of air leaking from the rear winch tensioner (looks like a Semi-Truck brake...
Ok, just when I thought I had it all firgured out, It dawned on me the M543A2 wrecker we have is NOT an M816...Air Cleaners on the Passenger side...
So after downloading all sorts of great manuals and such, is there a different set I should use for the M39 VS the M809 series...
Picked up a M816 5T Wrecker for the group and got here started while home on leave this month from Afghanistan (back here now).
Blew the boom lift hose, fluid everywhere... anyone know of a good source? If I get a local Fab shop what I should ask for, etc.
