I Well.. I'm biting the bullet & switching my 1009 & 1031 to gas motors, 12 volt system & a complete painless wiring harness. I'm tired of the feeling I get about the unreliability of the electrical & mechanical nightmare of just driving 15 miles to town, & not knowing if it will just up & quit...
Well... seeing I have two cucvs now I bit the bullet, & shelled out 150 clams for a set of jumper cables. Well the big brown truck just delivered them & OH-MY-GOD they're huge!!. They're 20 feet long & the ups box said they weighed 33 lbs. They look like new. I'm tickeled. Makes me want to rush...
I've been doing alot of studying about the cucv electrical system here lately, & have a question for some of you, more electrically inclined individuals than me. (I don't know much about electrical systems & I can prove it) I've been restoring & hotrodding chevy trucks for quite a few years now...

Well on 2/11/11 I won a M1031-AG010 shop maintanance contact truck. The E.U.C. cleared in about two weeks, & since it was fairly close to home, I figured I'd just drive up to w.p.a.f.b. & haul it home on my car trailor. I've got a 82 gmc civi long fleet 4x4 D.D. that I've had forever & pulled...
I got my E.U.C cleared for my M1031 in 15 days. Time for a little roadtrip with the car trailor sometime early in the week. It's only 228 miles but I'll trailor that rascal anyway. I don't much care for surprises. My name is John... & I have a "green iron" addiction.
Won a M1031 today. Under 11,000 miles with a 12 KW gen. with 6 hours on the meter & compressor. Shop maintenance truck. Time to go thru the EUC thing & SF97 & hurry up & wait. Looks like this ones only about 225 miles away, so it's ROADTRIP with the car trailor. Didn't think I had a chance but...
Newbie to the M.V. world & diesels in general (never owned either) & not exactly computer litterate, so bear with as I try to feel my way around this site. Bought a M1009 about six months ago, & was going to change all the fluids..... well... one thing lead to another & I'm still doing...
