Spring Brakes Not releasing
Hi Folks,
My truck is a 1990 BMY 923-a2 that generally is in very good shape. Unfortunately my trucks sits more than it should. A few weeks ago I went to drive the truck and it would only move when a great deal of power was applied.
A friend solved a problem...

Howdy,
My truck (1990 BMY 923a2, 6CTA) needs a new in block oil cooler.
Does anyone have a recommendations on purchasing a replacement oil cooler as an opportunity to upgrade the truck for more reliability and/or efficiency?
All comments and info Greatly Appreciated!
Thank,
Tom
Howdy,
I have purchased a military box with 12 individual snow chains in it (size 14-20).
No particular time constraints within reason.
One crate l x w x h = 30” x 44” x 27”.
Total weight approximately 900 lbs.
Packed and ready to go.
Fork lifts at both ends

Howdy,
I am trouble shooting a case of fuel feeding failure. I have installed a Schrader valve in to a standard fuel cap. I want to also install a pressure gauge in the fuel cap to make sure that I am safely pressurizing the system.
What is the maximum pressure I should use to test the...
Howdy,
Over the weekend my 923-a2 quit running while going down the road. It would start after a 15-30 minute rest, run very rough and quit again in about 30 secs after pumping out huge clouds of black smoke.
So I got home ( a whole different story titled "Towing a 5 Ton with a Ford F-350...
Howdy,
I have a 1990 BMY 923-a2 that does not have 4-Way Emergency Flashers built into the turn indicator assembly.
Am I missing something or is this an upgrade for my year/model 5 Ton?
All info Greatly Appreciated!
Tom
PS: Yes I searched the forums and no I did not find any info relating...
Howdy,
I am installing a Craig 73 Communications box on my 923-a2. I want to remove two fuse boxes and I would prefer to remove them without simply destroying them as someone may be able to use them for their project...
Here are the boxes I want to remove:
It appears to me that grinding...
Howdy,
This is a slow project that I will update as significant milestones are met.
I am mounting a Air Force Craig box (rough external dimensions are 8'w x 12'l x 87"h) on the bed of my 923-a2 as the base for a camper suitable for the South Western United States. Yes it is tall at...
Howdy,
I am interested in getting any technical information about the bolts, nuts and springs used to attach the bed of a 923-a2 to the frame.
I am working on a design to mount a “Craig 73” box on to a 923-a2 bed that the sides have been removed for clearance.
The truck:
The...
Howdy,
Recently I have been in the process of reading or posting on various forums (I am long winded and I do spend considerable time surfing through various forums) and I find that I have been logged out.
I have looked in all of the obvious (to me) places to see if there is some option to...
Howdy,
I am mounting an aluminum military shelter box (a 8'w x 12' Craig 73) on the bed of my 923-a2. I live and roam in the South West (e.g., Black Rock Desert, Death Valley, NV & AZ) so box height and width is less critical to me that those in heavily forested areas.
After I remove the...
Howdy,
I need to MIG weld several fittings on my 923a2. My truck has the CTIS "deleted" (controller still mounted) and is otherwise completely stock.
I will be welding a stud on the face of the torque rod insert. I have tested this on a defective insert out of the truck and it does not...
Howdy,
Today while slowly rolling down a hill the back of my M923 kicked hard to the right when I applied the brakes (gently) and there was a non-standard clank/clunk. When I climbed down to take a look I found the the first rear axle right tire almost touching the second rear axle right side...
Howdy,
I have a new to me 923A2 and I have shade tree mechanical skills at best and virtually no diesel skills at all!
When I got my truck the previous owner told me that "maybe the guy he bought the truck from turned up the fuel".
I have read all of the threads I could find relating to...
Hi Folks,
Well I just upgraded from my 1962 Unimog 404 to a M923A2 and while I want to get the CTIS up and running there are a few tasks before those on the optional list ;-)
So here's what I'm thinking about doing to make adjusting tire pressure easier than doing each tire separately...
