    brake problem.

Thanks for the pictures of your air pack. Started working on my 5 ton today. After taking apart my parts truck air pack to rebuild I had to go to plan B and take off the existing air pack to rebuild. Both air packs had some type of grease in the air canister. I looked for what type lube this is...

Check this out. I got two new still in the box drums to fix both trucks. Who would think to check for cracks, duh! As I was tighting the drive shaft bolts it became apparent I should have.

    Catastrophic parking brake failure

About missing the crack in the drum. Just got around to fixing this. It happened last fall thats why the peices are rusty. When it broke the peices I found were new brakes. The donor truck drum was an easy catch from over 20 foot away. My other M135 was not that easy, I wire wheeled off the...

    Catastrophic parking brake failure

While driving to work the other day in my m135 about 8 miles into the drive going around 45mph. A massive bang I immediately let off the throttle and looked in the mirror to see something sliding on the road and going in the ditch. My first thought was a tire blew out. When I stepped on the...

Finally a fix for problem floats

You said the sealer that you used is also made to line tanks. I have a M135 that has rust in the tank, 75 gallons. In the past I fixed some small tanks with "Johnson" fuel tank liner. Worked great but a little spendy, 30$ a quart 15 years ago who knows what it is today. Guessing it might take 6...

geared wrench was a good investment

I put a 1/4 inch air chuck on one of the glad hands on a M54a2 to fill tires etc. Also have an M135, it has a 1/4 turn valve under the drivers side dash that I put 1/4 inch chuck on too. they both work well in a pinch, but a good shop compressor is a lot better.

    winter rediness

It is a good idea to have chains, on my m135 I use one set on the very rear axels and one on one front wheel. I've still got stuck in snow with this setup, but there is not enough clearance to put chains on both rear axels. Unless your going to drive a lot in the snow I'd look for a used set...

    Oliver 2150 with multifuel

If your thinking about fuel economy the engine in my 2150 really likes fuel. The only way to save fuel has been to gear up and throttle down. Just remember not to lug it. The book says no work under 2400 rpm but I stay above 1600 to 1800, the heavier the load the higher the rpm. Uh oh 2400...

Question about cargo racks and troop seats

i've asked this question in another thread and got no info back, this looks like a better place to ask. what year did they start using fiberglass instead of wood. i have sets of each but want to use the right ones for my m54a2 1971 and 1969
