Thank you!
It's been a long process, and it's the first time I've ever painted a truck. Good thing matte paint is forgiving! I need to post up some pics of the whole thing. Still has a long way to go, but it's back on the road, and I'm having fun with it.
Ok, here are a few pics of what I did. I wrapped the cables in that twisty cable protection stuff (that's a technical term... I looked it up!) and just routed them over the transmission, and to where I put the switch. After drilling the hole for the switch, I noticed that I went through a seam...
I can't remember exactly, I think it was 7' and I had a little extra I used to make a new battery cable I needed. I'll snap a couple of pics underneath the truck tomorrow to show how I routed it. In their previous post Those Military Guys said they would have a kit for installing in both...
My '87 m1038 doesn't have the cooler. I bought the kit, and will be installing it soon. My gearbox is leaking pretty bad. I was going to order new inlet and outlet seals and see if that fixes the problem. I talked to Hummer Parts Guy a while back, and if I remember correctly a new gear box is...
Loving those Safari doors! Are you planning on mass producing them??!
I've been working on a 1987 M1038, but your project seems to be moving along much faster than mine!
I was planning on calling you guys about the battery cut off.. Hopefully someone close to you with a hmmwv can let you take some measurements. I'll call Monday or Tuesday to order several things.
Thanks Metalman,
I think I remember this discussion on the G. I'm actually looking for the brackets for a sponson panel...
I'm still a noob, figuring out what all the parts correct names should be.
my hmmwv is a 4 man soft top, but I'm installing a sponson panel to keep stuff from sliding into...
Did anyone take you up on the offer?? I was still planning on making my own, but I'd rather have an exact match. Unfortunately I don't have a set to send you.
So.... What about next Saturday? I'm going to try and get paint on my truck next week and if (that's a huge "if") I get it done in time, I might drive up. I'm assuming its the Cabela's in Eugene, right? What time, what's the plan? Thanks!

Are canvas covers OEM for HMMWVs? I've only seen the rubber covers. Mine are beyond restoration... cracked, torn, and painted tan.
Thank you for the info!

Great idea!! I really should know this (I used to be a bike nerd - but then again, Road bike & mountain bike, I've never had a hybrid) What size tire/tube do hybrid bikes use?
