Torque multiplier....I won't leave home without it.

Had the 11.00's put on years ago at a heavy truck shop, no doubt with heavy tools. Have been trying to loosen the lug nuts for a while but they wouldn't budge. Geared lug wrench with a cheater bar didn't work, 3/4" impact gun didn't work. Got a Homcom heavy duty torque multiplier (yeah, it's...

    M886 corrosion

Finally got around to pulling the top off due to a bit of corrosion. Will probably replace with aluminum.

    Rear lug nut removal question.

Can't find a clear answer on this. Using a Ken-tool geared lug wrench on the left rear (M35A2 dual wheel) do I rotate the smaller gear clock-wise or counter clock-wise to remove the outer lug nut? And yes, I know it's righty loosey. Lug nuts were installed at a truck shop several years ago, no...

Picked up a 1991 M149A2 and was wondering what this mount is for. Didn't see it in the TM and Google didn't help.

Joined the 5 Ton club (M923A2)

Got a 1990 M923A2. Just spent the day replacing the the tranny, fuel, and oil filters and changing the engine oil (tranny oil was fresh). Can't believe how easy this thing is to service, way easier than the M35A2. Next will be the differentials and transfer case. Will need to temporarily bypass...

    Scored 3 Pioneer Tool Trailers

Oh boy, another project. Picked up 3 Pioneer tool trailers. #1 is in pretty good shape, will be restored as a keeper. #2 a little rough but restorable or maybe a parts donor. #3 someone got after it with a cutting torch and the floor is pretty rusty, definitely a parts donor. All 3 have good...

I took the Ferret to the Hot Springs, Ar. Veterans parade and had a great time. Always a pleasure to show support to current and former military personnel.

    Green brake fluid???

I finally got around to checking my brake fluid and saw it was green, not what I expected. I took a little out and dropped it in some water and it did not mix, just floated around in little blobs so I know it's silicone based but what is it and can it be mixed with DOT 5 (Purple)?

Deuce vs. Pine Tree or not?

I need to remove a pine tree that's about 2' in diameter to make room for the new garage. Since I need to remove the root ball as well as the tree, I thought about putting the winch cable about 30' up for leverage and commence to pulling. Think it will work? Got any tips? Thanks

    MT-1029 help please.

I'm trying to install an RT-524A in my Deuce. I have an NOS MT-1029 mount with an NOS CX-4720 power cable. The problem is when I touch the positive wire(s) to the positive post on the battery I get a large arc. This is with the mount installed without the radio and it does it whether the...

    FDC bypass info (yes, again)

Trying to bypass the FDC due to lots of fuel in the oil so hopefully this will fix the problem. Please check my work here, I don't want to tear up anything. I read all the FDC posts and just want to verify that I did it right (or wrong). 1. I installed the fuel line from the final filter...

    Bad trip.

Just spent a month trying to get the Deuce ready to attend the "Cowtown Warbird Roundup" (Airshow, sort of). Replaced all oils (engine, tranny, transfer, diffs.), replaced the oil pressure regulator and gauge. Triple checked everything, went on a couple 40 mile test drives. All is well. So I...

    Oil Pressure problem (maybe)

Got a '72 M35A2 LDT-465-1c Whistler. 35,000 on odo. 215 on hour meter. Oil looks fresh. Did a lot of searches and got lots of good info but still not sure what's up. Maintenance manual is on order. I was getting a very low pressure indication so per the info I got here I installed a Sunpro...

    Source for M886 leaf springs?

Where might I get some leaf springs for a '77 M886? NOS would be nice but after market springs will do. I can get the 3 leaf front ones from Saturn Surplus but I need the 6 leaf rear ones. Thanks

    '77 M886 Alt. gauge meltdown.

Driving my '77 M886 and saw smoke coming from under the dash and noticed the alternator gauge was pegged on the charging side. At idle the gauge drops to the middle then swings wildly side to side, rev it up it and it pegs out again. I pulled the gauge cluster and the gauge was melted to the...
