I spent a whole day pressure washing and flushing my radiator.
If your radiator is slugged up you should pull the freeze plugs out of the block and pressure wash inside the block. I found all kinds of stuff inside mine. Including a metal clothes hanger.. I'm guessing the previous owner tried...
I used a GMC C7000 master cylinder on my bobbed/hot rod. 1 3/4 bore. I planned on using hydroboost like 350tacozilla said. But it stops fine without it.. And, due to space limiting factors, my pedal ratio is only 3.5:1.
With a better pedal ratio you may be good.. If not go hydroboost.
Cant tell you guys how much i appreciate all the kind words.
Sorry i have not responded lately, Im kind of in the middle of obsessing on this winters project.
To answer a few questions;
The top is chopped 8''. And i removed the arch over the windshield, to square it up.
Had to narrow the cab...
Yo Rick.
No I didn't get them from westhampton area. Had the truck for some time now. But just recently converted it.
Pembertons rite down the road. I'm not aware of any shows or cruse nites around this time of year. But if I take it anyware I'll let u know. Well take it for a ride.
You can't see but I'm drooling!
You have all the pieces you need rite there.
I love the 749series just as much as anyone. But...And This is just my experience, I can honestly say. Building a whole new car from scratch was 100 times easier than restoring and trying to keep my stock M135...
Thanks again for all the kind words. I really do appreciate it.
I know you guys love pics. Im trying to get more build pics on here, not having much luck. I'm really not to computer savvy.
I'll get em on as soon as i can.
Thanks Ray
Thanks again. I used WW2 semi-gloss from gillespie coatings. Looks good but not as durable as I'd like, I should have added a hardner when I sprayed it. I understand what your saying about the springs. But I believe they are correct. If they were reversed the long main spring would be on top...
Thanks for all the kind words guys. I was realy expecting to get my a** handed to me by the purist.
I'll get out this weekend and get some video of it.
I'd love to get it to Aberdeen or some other MV shows. My only concern would be outrunning the lynch mob:shock:.
Front axle is a suicide setup. I used the factory deuce leafs, cut them in half to make them 1/4 elliptical and lower control arm combo.
For the uppers I used the factory dog bones just had to cut and lengthen them.
