    Glow Plug Warm-up

Thank you! How much are glow plugs?

    Glow Plug Warm-up

I have a nice '86 HMMWV driven regularly with only 9,000 miles. I drove it yesterday and it was fine. Today, the WAIT light won't do out and it will only turn over and not start even after waiting a couple of minutes. It's 65 degrees out so I'd think it would start anyway but... Thoughts...

    Losing Air Pressure

I lose 20# of air pressure, out through the engine intake, every time I press the brake pedal. Did replacing the brake pedal valve assembly at the brake pedal fix the problem? Where did you buy it and how much? Thank you!

    Air Leak Noise?

    Great tip...thanks!

    Air Leak Noise?

Thanks! I only drove it several short distances in cooler weather.

    Air Leak Noise?

Thanks! Not super secret after all, but was well-equipped when in use, i.e. CID panels and DVE system.

    Air Leak Noise?

    Oops. It's an '86.

    Air Leak Noise?

    No. Why do you ask?

    Air Leak Noise?

Even though I just finished cosmetically restoring my '83 HMMWV, I've not driven it much. Driving it the last two nights, it has issued an air leak noise about which I'm inquiring. After driving it at 55mph for about 15 minutes, I hear a prolonged air leak noise almost like an extended turbo...

Hello. I am looking for a HMMWV hood CID panel. I already have the bracket. Thank you!

    HMMWV Scissors Jack Dimensions

Thank you! I haven't looked long, but the underhood mounts seem to be rare and expensive.

    HMMWV Scissors Jack Dimensions

Does anyone know if the HMMWV Scissors Jack will fit under the back seat, either raised or collapsed? Or overall length dimensions, raised and collapsed will help as well. Thank you!

    Geared Hub Oil Change

SMART! I was going to drain it all and start over. NOT SMART!

    Geared Hub Oil Change

Oops. I filled it from the large threaded plug removed to access the half-shaft bolt. I filled it to the bottom of that hole. Perhaps that's way too much oil!

    X-door Scratched "Glass" Fix

Good luck with that. It MAY be a coated polycarbonate that would not polish well. My windows are now sparkling clean and clear and I don't fear glass shards.

    Geared Hub Oil Change

I have drained the oil from two of my geared hubs and they contained about 6 oz. each and seemed to be diluted with diesel. (A lot of leakage? seemed to be visible on both hubs and inner wheels.) I was told that the breather tube is a flaw and should be cut high and capped to avoid drawing...

    X-door Scratched "Glass" Fix

I think there may be different window substrates. If yours is 3/8" thick, like mine, it may consist of two laminated glass plates with a thick plastic "film" on the inside. Your proposed idea of scoring and removing the inner plastic layer will certainly work and avoids the disassembly. I am...

    X-door Scratched "Glass" Fix

I've read other fixes for the scratched glass x-door inners including replacing. After disassembly, the total thickness of the laminated window was 3/8". I was thinking that the outer layer was 3/16" glass and the inner layer was 3/16" plastic, but this was incorrect. There are two glass...

    HMMWV Mysteries

Thank you very much! So, I'm assuming that the the yellow question mark bracket is a "doubler" that has to do with the DVE system.
